Ok... I'm so mad at Ebay people right now...

Good googly moogly. Exactly what kind of stupid magnet do I have on me??? Perhaps I’m just expecting too much of people… like that they actually have the ability to READ since they’ve managed to stumble upon the E-bay website AND manage to not only place a bid, but win an auction…

Is it really a stretch to think they can READ???

I was aggravated several months ago about using PayPal because of their fees. So I opened another PayPal account to accept cash only.

On my auctions in BIG RED letters are instructions that are not terribly confusing for paying with PayPal.

Use the Pay Now button if you paying with cash and WAIT FOR THE INVOICE (within 24 hours [usually immediately] after auction) for credit card. That just says if you pay with PayPal and are using a credit card, use this email address XXX.XXX.

It’s not wordy, it’s simple straightforward instructions. AAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I even just had a woman email me after screwing it up that she READ the listing and invoice TWICE and still managed to do it wrong!!!

This most recent one, since she didn’t pay immediately I assumed she would read the invoice. Nope. It’s RIGHT ON THE FRIGGIN listing people!!! BIG RED LETTERS!!!

GADS.

sigh I’m way too worked up over this. My only recourse after this is to not accept credit cards, but I KNOW some dolt is going to me drawn to my auctions for the sheer purpose of trying to pay with a credit card.

Go ahead, tell me I’m the doof for confusing these poor innocent people with TWO methods of payment… I can take it (I hope).

Here’s an idea…why don’t you remove PAYPAL as one of your payment methods, thus forcing them to contact you for the invoice at all times?

I’ve read your OP three times and still don’t understand what you’re all mad about.

You say you were unhappy with PayPal fees, so you opened up a ‘cash only’ account. If your PayPal account doesn’t accept credit cards, then how are the winning bidders screwing up payment? Absent PayPal, they’d have to wait for your instructions to make the payment, no? How do you process credit cards if you don’t go through PayPal?

I have two paypal accounts. One for cash only and one for credit cards.

I think I like the suggestion to eliminate PayPal payment directly from the auction listing. I never thought of that.

This mornings fiasco with a credit card paying bidder ended pleasantly enough. She apologized for not having read any of correspondence.
