Let’s try another one! All I remember about this horror movie from watching it on TV during the pre-1000 channel era when you only have two or three good independent channels that showed half-decent movies sometimes is: 1)these people find some kind of record of weird sounds, whenever they play it - a winged dragon creature thing attacks them. 2)I recall them driving a station wagon late at night and played the sounds with the creature attacking the car 3)remember some kind of building where a creature like the one attacking them was burned or killed? Thanks with the help with the other one so maybe you can get this one too 
I seem to recall a movie called “Gargoyle” It was shown all the time late at night. It may be the movie you’re looking for.
It is definitely Gargoyles. I remember the station wagon scene very vividly.
That movie scared the liver out of me when I was a little kid. It destroyed my prior assumption that once you made it into the car, no monsters could get you. I mean surely once you got the car moving on the highway you were safe. Right? Uh uh. Get in your car and drive away, and you can still be attacked by flying gargoyles.
