I just ordered the ten-foot version. Let’s see how long it takes for her to kill it.
There was an alarm going off in a vacant house a couple of doors down, so I called 9-1-1. I put my iPhone on Speaker, and the operator said it sounded like a smoke alarm and transferred me to the fire department. They came to check it out. I heard their truck and walked over. They said they tried to call me, but there was no answer. Unknown to me, there is a switch (as opposed to a button) on the top-left side of the phone to turn the ringer off or on. Since I have a case on my phone, it’s not easy to actuate the switch. I don’t know if the switch was off and that’s why my phone didn’t ring, but I toggled it a few times and the phone says the ringer is on now. So there’s something I learned about my phone.
In case you’re wondering, the alarm had stopped in the few minutes it took for the fire department to get to the house. It had been going off for a half of an hour or so, so maybe it timed out. At least the 9-1-1 operator heard it when I called.
When you turn the ringer off, it should vibrate when you get a call or notification.
That’s what I read. Only I might not hear it vibrate, especially if I’m outside.
Yes, if your iPhone is in a case, it’s very easy to toggle the ringer off without realizing it. I have often had that experience.
I love the Apple TV - iPhone - MacBook ecosystem. Welcome aboard.
