MY point is that rape is not the worst of all possible fates. We need to get away from that notion. Now, that said, it’s still a terrible thing to happen to a person. Being sexually molested/assaulted is also bad, but it’s not as bad as, say, slowly choking to death on poison gas while watching your children do the same, or having your limbs blown off, or being deliberately starved to death, all things which have been happening in Syria the last couple years which is why something like 2 million people have risked death by drowning and various other bad things in order to get the hell away from Syria. That would include some people who are criminals because criminals don’t like poison gas, IED’s, and starvation either.

My initial response was to the quote of BigT’s above. And yes I do think saying ‘but the people who did it had it bad’ is downplaying their actions and directing attention away from the victims.

Would it be said in other circumstances, if a rich woman in America or Europe was sexually assaulted or raped by another American or European, would people really be saying, “Well yes, that was awful what happened to her, but the person who did it had a deprived background so really its not so bad in comparison is it?.” I doubt it.

And btw the majority of the suspects and the majority of the immigrants are from areas other than Syria so they don’t even have that excuse, if an excuse is what it is.

Also if the refugees have been so brutalised by what they have experienced as you suggest should we really be inviting them in en masse? Its laudable to be compassionate but at the expense of the host nations safety and stability?

For the record I have no particularly strong feelings regarding Islam, Arabs, the Middle East or Muslims in general, they’ve certainly never did me any direct harm, although I question quite a few aspects of their culture, but what I am concerned about an influx of people of a quite distinct religion and culture with seemingly no controls or checks being conducted at all. Again, I don’t see how that’s a contentious position.

Also for the record because it has been mentioned a couple of times above, I don’t think this incident was particularly awful because it was directed against women, I would be equally concerned if it was large groups of men picking on and assaulting other men. But that’s not what happened.

There’s usually a debate on what constitutes degeneracy, but I think most people would call gang rape and violent sexual assault degenerate behavior. So if people are in agreement men are more likely than women and children to partake in these activities then people should agree men are more degenerate.

Actually, I think you will find a large number of the shooters will be Christian right wingers, if not actual Christian fundamentalists, or close to it. Also a large number of avowed racists. Racism/conservativism/Christianity in various proportions would be the linking ideology in the majority of cases.

But there isn’t an organised Christian terrorist entity in the Western World which is actually propagating followers to go out and massacre infidels.

Judaism is a religion, Israel is a state, it does help to keep the two separate not all Israelis are Jews. There is a similarity between Christianity, Judaism and Islam as all three are global religions they are not based in any one particular country

It’s not “fair” to all men, but it’s how you place your bets. Rapes are nearly all performed by men. Same with less violent sexual assaults. The ones getting the worst deal of all are the ex-Muslims/gay Muslims ect who are victims of right wings racism and thuggery just for looking brown or Asian, and, as always, under attack from the talibros in their own communities, all while the deluded regressive liberals knock each other over in a frantic scramble to prove that they are more tolerant of fascism than each other, as long as the fascism comes from those with the ethnic flavor their virtue signalling requires.

What about it? Always trust your gut-feeling / instinct is one of the most basic of advice given to girls to avoid being raped. Never compromise your security to make other feel better. It’d be extremely dubious to start to advice girls to disregard feelings of discomfort.

Of course, this only goes for private individuals; not public officials.

STOCKHOLM The Cologne sex assault on New Year’s Eve, where groups of Arab and North African men groped more than a hundred German women, has shocked Europe this last week. But a very similar incident, with a large number of perpetrators and victims, took place in the Swedish capital last summer. That incident however was silenced by large Swedish newspapers and media companies, despite repeated attempts from police officers to contact journalists. This is how leading Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter tried to cover up a politically inconvenient sex assault story.

Nyheter Idag is now able to disclose in detail how major Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter deliberately covered up stories about widespread sexual abuse in central Stockholm in connection with a concert in the Kungsträdgården public square this August. “The mere suspicion that the abuse has been considered as difficult to describe involves a betrayal of the victims”,the newspaper writes about the event, almost six months later.

On Saturday August 15th, the nationally acclaimed and outspoken feminist artist Zara Larsson headlined the youth festival ‘We Are Sthlm” with a crowded concert in Kungsträdgården in central Stockholm. Thousands of young people were in attendance to take part in the event during the last summer nights of the year.

But for an unknown number of young girls the festival soon became a nightmare. Hordes of young men pressed against young girls, fondled and tried to cop a feel over and under skirts, pants and shirts. There were severe sexual assaults happening right in front of the stage, where artists such as Larsson and rapper OIAM performed.

During a single night police and security guards had to intervene against around 90 younger males, but even adult men took part in the abuse, says an eye witness to Nyheter Idag. The eye witness has professional experience from working at the Stockholm Police Department as a psychologist.

The police officer tried to contact Dagens Nyheter several times: “They never called again”

The psychologist who knew of what had happened in Kungsträdgården contacted journalist Hanne Kjöller at Dagens Nyheter, by, among other things, e-mail on August 17. The psychologist says he specifically turned to Kjöller because he knew that she had previously written about controversial topics.

“She was very interested and listened until I told her that all the boys and men that were apprehended were young asylants (unaccompanied is the terminology used by Swedish authorities) from Afghanistan and Syria. I sensed that she changed the tone (of her voice). But she also said that she would contact the police”, he tells Nyheter Idag.

Kjöller got the phone number to one of the police officers who were on duty during the event in Kungsträdgården and could provide a recollection of the events. Nyheter Idag has talked with the police officer who Kjöller talked to in August, and he was eager to tell Dagens Nyheter about the massive cases of sexual assault against young girls in central Stockholm.

“She sent a text message to me once, early on, where she wrote that she was looking for me, she wanted to talk. After that, I tried to get in touch with her, but that was when things started to get awry. She answered sometimes, said she would get back to me. But it never amounted to anything. She was interested in it for half day or a day, then she wasn’t anymore”.

The officer explains that he worked for several evenings during this week in Kungsträdgården square. He tells of how he and his colleagues had to apprehend a large number of young men who sexually assaulted girls, in large part unaccompanied refugees from Afghanistan.
The police officer, who has worked as a police officer for over 20 years, emphatically states several times that the events in Kungsträdgården were systematic and extensive in number. This was what he wanted to tell Hanne Kjöller of Dagens Nyheter.

“We got in touch and talked briefly, and she said she would call back, which she did not. So I looked for her, she did not call back. I tried to reach her at another time, but I never heard back from her again. I called several times, cannot say exactly how many. It was over a three or four day period”.
