Ok, so what the hell happened in Germany in NYE?

My initial response was to the quote of BigT’s above. And yes I do think saying ‘but the people who did it had it bad’ is downplaying their actions and directing attention away from the victims.

Would it be said in other circumstances, if a rich woman in America or Europe was sexually assaulted or raped by another American or European, would people really be saying, “Well yes, that was awful what happened to her, but the person who did it had a deprived background so really its not so bad in comparison is it?.” I doubt it.

And btw the majority of the suspects and the majority of the immigrants are from areas other than Syria so they don’t even have that excuse, if an excuse is what it is.

Also if the refugees have been so brutalised by what they have experienced as you suggest should we really be inviting them in en masse? Its laudable to be compassionate but at the expense of the host nations safety and stability?

For the record I have no particularly strong feelings regarding Islam, Arabs, the Middle East or Muslims in general, they’ve certainly never did me any direct harm, although I question quite a few aspects of their culture, but what I am concerned about an influx of people of a quite distinct religion and culture with seemingly no controls or checks being conducted at all. Again, I don’t see how that’s a contentious position.

Also for the record because it has been mentioned a couple of times above, I don’t think this incident was particularly awful because it was directed against women, I would be equally concerned if it was large groups of men picking on and assaulting other men. But that’s not what happened.

Am I misunderstanding this or did you just make a sweeping negative generalisation about an entire gender?

Using a dictionary in a debate?!? You might get pitted!

But there isn’t an organised Christian terrorist entity in the Western World which is actually propagating followers to go out and massacre infidels.

Judaism is a religion, Israel is a state, it does help to keep the two separate not all Israelis are Jews. There is a similarity between Christianity, Judaism and Islam as all three are global religions they are not based in any one particular country

I do it all the time. As a man who was once a bit of a dog and who knows some much bigger dogs I know enough about men to be leery about giving them much benefit of the doubt. As a husband of a woman who was raped, and the father of daughters who I can’t watch out for all the time, I am of the mind to assume guilt until proven innocent. It’s not “fair” to all men, but it’s how you place your bets. Rapes are nearly all performed by men. Same with less violent sexual assaults. Simple facts, and if it hurts your feelings that I don’t trust you, too bad.

sailed over your head and is now orbiting the planet. The Tunis attacks had a religious basis to them and were focused on killing random people based on the hate constructed from the religion.

Under fire Merkel admits Europe has ‘lost control’ of the refugee crisis as thousands of demonstrators take to the streets of Germany shouting ‘take your Muslims with you’ after sex attack crisis
German Chancellor admitted Europe is ‘vulnerable’ and said countries do not have control of the situation
Angela Merkel also said the euro was ‘directly linked’ to freedom of movement in Europe and if countries do not allow their borders to be crossed without much difficulty, the European single market would ‘suffer acutely’
Thousands of people took to the streets of the German city of Leipzig to protest against the influx of refugees
Protesters chanted ‘Resistance!’ and ‘Deport them!’ and some had signs which read ‘Refugees not welcome!’

The last thing I want to see is an election to replace Merkel the danger being a shift to the right when Germany needs stability. Hopefully this will not be repeated throughout Northern Europe

Good luck citing that I made such a statement. The entire dress code exchange started with Ramira’s knee-jerk response to billfish678’s premise that “Jesus sucks” would not get noticed in a Western country but “Mohammad sucks” would get you arrested in an Islamic country. It was never about any dress codes promoted by Islam. She then used Tunis as some kind of Example of Islamic dress. I pointed out when I think of Tunis I think of the terrorist attacks of recent years.

You’re persistence in making excuses for the acts of Mohammad and his instructions precludes you from recognizing the connection. You take every event and hand-wave it away as some other factor.

The ones getting the worst deal of all are the ex-Muslims/gay Muslims ect who are victims of right wings racism and thuggery just for looking brown or Asian, and, as always, under attack from the talibros in their own communities, all while the deluded regressive liberals knock each other over in a frantic scramble to prove that they are more tolerant of fascism than each other, as long as the fascism comes from those with the ethnic flavor their virtue signalling requires.

It’s not encouraging to see them talking each other out of supporting the far right, and having a difficult time of it because their aren’t real worthwhile options as far as movements that stand up for them.

Imagine if someone said:
“I do it all the time. As someone who was once robbed by a black man, and whose cousin was once stabbed in school by a black teenager, I am of the mind to assume guilt until proven innocent. It’s not “fair” to all black people, but it’s how you place your bets. African Americans have a high rate of per capita violent crime. Simple facts, and if it hurts your feelings as a black person that I don’t trust you, too bad.”

What about it? Always trust your gut-feeling / instinct is one of the most basic of advice given to girls to avoid being raped. Never compromise your security to make other feel better. It’d be extremely dubious to start to advice girls to disregard feelings of discomfort.

Of course, this only goes for private individuals; not public officials.

The AP is now reporting that Swedish police failed “to inform the public of widespread sexual assaults against teenage girls at a music festival last summer.”

Exposing Major PC Cover-up in Sweden – Leading Daily Dagens Nyheter Refused to Write About Cologne-like Sex Crimes in Central Stockholm

A rugged hike of a sentence. Persons venturing to reach the far end should pack a lunch. Change of socks.

I commend the first movement, when you express your sympathy with the victims. But with that as your apparent premise, you launch yourself sideways to put the slam on liberals who “scramble to prove that they are more tolerant of fascism than each other”. Or so you claim.

Liberal Hypocrisy is not the number one threat to the Republic, that’s Cognitive Dissonance. Liberal hypocrisy had the number two slot until the Republican primary debates started. Now its Cruz.

Seriously, sqweels,* Blightbart? *.

This is one of those projecting your own attitudes on everyone else things isn’t it? I’m not going to give much weight to the opinion of someone who openly admits he was ‘a bit of a dog’. The vast majority of men don’t engage in sexual assault never mind outright rape. And its misandristic to suggest that they do, never mind ‘all men’.

What a sad world you live in.

Of course, the law-abiding majority of the migrants/refugees immediately turned the offenders in to the police.

They did turn them in, didn’t they?

Silence still means complicity.
Those creeps do not live in vacuums; the people around them know/suspect the guilty persons.
I’m guessing that now, 10 days after the latest assaults, the silence means the folks around them consider their actions to be within “community standards”.

Some “community” they’ve got there.

I think you stopped paying actual attention long ago, or you would realize that widespread pc censorship of organized rape and sexual assault gangs is precisely that.

Only for those hopelessly stuck in the quicksand of outdated, narcissistic, political tribalism. It’s a great big world out there Lucy, with much more important facets than those you use to decide which American politician to bring into a conversation about rape gangs in Germany and Sweden, in order to make sure you keep your spot in the cool guyz clique with Jon Stewart and Micheal Moore.

Sadly, that site was one of the first large ones to report on the attacks in Cologne. In fact, it looks like they broke the story. What was that you were saying about Liberal tolerance of fascism?

It’s not sexist to note men are far more dangerous than women.
