Ok, so what the hell happened in Germany in NYE?

Dear Ramira, another question you should ask yourself is this: If my thread of 2008 about the Gideon Bible in my hotel room was so ridiculous, why did it generate **OVER 400 **replies? People expressed opinions for and against hotels putting religious texts in every hotel room. Some people did think I was being too concerned over something trivial, but dozens of posters expressed the full range of opinion on this subject. A nativity scene on public property may seem trivial, but the issue has been before the courts and has been regularly debated in the court of public opinion.

So you are entitled to your opinion, dear Ramira. I do not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it. (Now THERE is a western value that Muslims should sit down and really study.)

What you’re doing is trying to prevaricate. You state it’s religious bigotry if a physical assault occurs, but argue it’s not religious bigotry if Geller or similar waste of carbon spouts whatever hatefilled gibberish she likes about muslims.

And believe me, if this thread was some religious loon of whatever stripe condemning you for your sexual preferences I’d be called them a bigot too.

I know it is not Germany but the fact that there are German victims could cause further problems within Germany

This obviously raises the serious questions about the white European right wing community in the Germany? Have the white right-wing European people in Germany denounced and informed on the rampaging destructive protesters? Silence or the non denunciation to the police obviously is equal to sympathy and collaboration. What can be done about the culture of violence and their history in among the Germans?

Of course since they are protesting against the Muslims there is no racism at all, because of the dictionary…

No of course they are worried about black outs and there is no ethnic or racial animus about the islamophobic violent white right wing european men, we must be concerned about their culture of racism and violence.

Gee, I’m sorry, I had some crazy idea that seven Muslim states have the death penalty for homosexuality! I was under the impression that 71% of British Muslims said gays should be put to death or imprisoned.

I guess I was just being a delusional, dizzy queen. You know us flamers, honey!

This is very funny.

Nine German nationals were killed in today’s Istanbul bombing.

sadly by the standards of the board, you are forbidden to call a thing a thing, so you could not.

Fuck me, the degree of smug cultural supremacy there really is something to behold.

Before claiming that one as a western value, I’d point out that the Sikh guru Tegh Bahadur had staked that precedent long before Evelyn Hall ever uttered it. But hey, clearly it’s a western thing, right?

There is indeed a religious loon organization that is doing that. Some countries where this looney organization predominates even have the death penalty for gays. And millions of people in this murderously homophobic religion are infiltrating western countries. The loony organization is called Islam.

It’s not a “phobia”, that term is stupid. It’s not phobic to oppose a religion that calls for your death and that motivates regular occurring mass murder and mob-sprees of rape and sexual assault.

*This is very urgent business, ladies and gentlemen, I beseech you: resist it while you still can and before the right to complain is taken away from you, which will be the next thing. You will be told, you can’t complain – because you’re Islamophobic. The term is already being introduced into the culture, as if it’s an accusation of race hatred for example or bigotry, whereas it’s only the objection to the preachings of a very extreme and absolutist religion.

Watch out for these symptoms, they are not the symptoms of surrender, very often ecumenically offered to you by men of god in other robes, Christian and Jewish and smarmy-ecumentical. – These are the – these are the ones who will hold open the gates for the barbarians. The Barbarians never take a city till someone holds the gates open for them, and it’s your own preachers who will do it for you, and your own multicultural authorities who will do it for you. Resist – resist it while you can. *
-Christopher Hitchens

But you know that “Islam” is not one organization, right?

Of course it is, we are the Borg.

Boo.

The lack of awareness of self inflicted irony is amusing.

Whether or not the principle is of strictly western origin is not what makes it a western value, although some attribute such a saying to Voltaire in the 1700s. Then again more than one person may have expressed the concept.

What makes it a western concept? Try a little experiment with me, dear Kumquat. You will stand on the street in five or 10 western democracies with a sign that says: “There is no God and Jesus was a fraud”. Then you will stand up in five or ten Muslim countries with a sign that says: “There is no God and Mohammed was a fraud”.

Notice any difference?

I prefer Huxley to Hitchens:

“The propagandist’s purpose is to make one set of people forget that certain other sets of people are human.”

and a master of illogical non sequitur, dramatic mistatements and complete missing of points…

Indeed, that is an excellent description of Islam’s dehumanization of non-Muslims.

(Hint: an idea is not human and as such can not be dehumanized)

By slapping labels on them?
Like bigot?

Here is the first bit of data: a guy wears a shirt that says “God is busy” in Cairo. This is much milder than stating that Mo was a fraud or that God doesn’t exist, but that data isn’t in yet, our researchers wearing those shirts set off some time ago but haven’t returned yet. I can’t imagine why.
