Message boards are by nature “conversational,” in that we take conversatoinal “turns.” It’s not like you make one long post with all your ideas about one subject, and then shut up forever on that subject. You see how people respond, and then respond to the response. Also, starting a new thread is indeed, as stated above, a way of changing the subject in a conversation, in that a particular room, such as MPSIMS, is like a larger, more global conversation, and a new thread is like a new topic.
