OK, what does rickrolled mean and where does it come from?

The SDMB is not the center of the internet universe. :stuck_out_tongue: It actually tends to be about a year or more behind internet memes, which are started in large part in hives of scum and villainy such as 4chan and Something Awful, which are breeding grounds for assholes. Nobody ever followed a link from here to a picture of a duck on wheels or a video of Rick Astley because the discourse here is generally above the juvenile level. We also lack the ability to put images in our posts, which is a major contributing factor as well.

I think a recent xkcd strip is appropriate to this thread.

My favorite use of rickrolling is the light graffiti kids who has all there stuff open source. Plans, schematics, etc. Except, they have an IP tracker, and anytime a corporation tries to download the link, they get rickrolled.
