I’ve tried Halo several times. My friends always get me to play but I end up getting owned before I can kill anyone. It seems like every other FPS I’ve ever played. What’s so innovative about it?

Lots of good discussion in there about the game’s technical/gameplay merits and, more importantly, how it was in the right place at the right time. It introduced LAN play to console gamers and was the first FPS to really catch on on consoles. Most people would say Goldeneye for the N64 was the first truly great FPS but it didn’t seem to inspire a slew of imitators like Halo did.
You’re not doing it right, then. I’m not saying it for the sake of snark, either.
I have zero love for the series. If you ever have the desire to talk shit about it with someone, send me a private message and I will do so with gusto.
Start a thread. I think it’d be successful, judging by a few negative comments on it so far. It could be pretty interesting, actually.
Nah. Personally, I’m not interested in debating whether it was good or bad. Just wanna talk shit about it. Gave the series plenty of chances to wow and such a feeling never materialized. So perhaps I could take it to The Pit, but it would get moved back here in two minutes tops. It’s a subject that’s stuck in some sort of message board limbo. 
Why not just continue that line in the first thread, which definitely covered quite a few comments that would support that? Do we need a fifth thread on the game?
Yeah, I was just noticing that myself. I’m assuming it’s because ODST just came out so it’s on people’s minds but it still seems a little odd.
Just FTR, I’ve never played any of the Halo games and really know nothing about Master Chief, so I can’t contribute to the OP. Sorry about that… 
I respect the games position in the industry but the series just never piqued my interest.
