Would you do us all a favor and read the whole thread before waving your dick around? Thanks.
In other words, nobody. We’re talking about nobody in this thread.
Of course it wouldn’t be the brightest thing in the world to attack an armed person…
Once again, DtC shows his propensity for violence. I would wholeheartedly agree that people like him cannot be trusted with weapons. He scares me.
Ordinarily, I’d agree with you.
People who are only capable of kicking the ass of an imaginary old lady? Not so much.
Keep in mind though, it might not be about the host him or herself – it could be one of the guests who feels uneasy around guns.
But as it was stated, someone might feel that the combination of booze and guns is a bad idea – especially if you have OTHER guests who aren’t so bright. I think we all have relatives like that – who we are sometimes obligated to invite. And if we tell him he can’t bring his gun, and we let you bring your’s…
For those who say “concealed”, though, where? In your jacket? A purse (for women?)
I typically carry a .38 snubnose in pocket holster. Nothing else is in that pocket and I touch it exactly twice a day: when I put it in my pocket in the morning and when I take it out at night. This, of course, excludes when I unload it and practice a smooth and quick draw. It is not in my nature to “fondle” the gun or show it to others. I wear it everywhere where it is legal in PA to do so.
…
There are tons of places you can conceal a weapon. And yes, they make concealed carry purses for women too. This site also shows a large variety of concealment holsters too. Some get quite creative, but I wonder how long it would take to extract a weapon from certain places…
I’m really sad that this is actually a point of debate. I live in a no-carry state, and never in my life have I needed protection more than what calling the police would do. Imho, if you feel the need to carry the gun, you are literally without common sense, basic observation skills, nor social skills. As an adult, schoolyard rules are over, and there are other choices you can make other than a fight to the death.
Wow. There’s so much wrong with this comment I haven’t a clue where to start, and I don’t think I want to since it’d most certainly degenerate the thread into another pro/anti gun debate. I will just say this though: the day you put your life’s hands into the police is a sad day indeed. Everyone needs some means of self defense, and a telephone has proven time again that it’s not a good way of defending yourself.
What makes you sad is not a guide I trust for how I should live my life.
I’m more sad that you think it is. Nobody here has said they would go against the wishes of the homeowner.
What are they going to do, shoot me?
If they feel their life is endangered, yes. And depending on the state and circumstances, it may be legal!
Propensity for violence? I haven’t been in a physical fight since 9th grade, and I’m not the one who has to carry a deadly weapon around everywhere I go to feel like a man.
I was answering an asinine hypothetical with the response it deserved.
Not in my own home it won’t.
Plus, it’s going to be awfully hard for them to shoot me with their gun shoved up their ass.
Sigh… I’d wager that very few people who carry concealed weapons do it to “feel like a man.” For you see, in the real world, there are “bad people,” and some of those bad people like to attack and kill others (often times with guns!). But if you want to think that people who value their own life and want to defend it only do so to “feel like a man,” then fine.
So you’re saying they’re perpetually frightened pussies who are too a-skared to go to the SuperAmerica without a gun.
I live in the real world. I’ve lived, and worked and scored weed in some very bad neighborhoods (including virtually lawless, 3rd world neighborhoods), and I’ve never felt the need to carry a gun, or go around pissing my pants with fear all the time. Man up, for God’s sake.
I feel comfortable stating that nobody on this board threatens violence as often as you. You’re right there in every thread involving abuse of women or children playing Batman. Can we now add gun threads to the list? You talk more shit than anybody I know, here or IRL.
