(Old) Ain't gonna move no more in the MMP

The paint is till tacky, so no sanding yet. I gave the MGB a ‘lick and a promise’; I sprayed it with a hose and got the grime off with the fleecy glove. But no soap or wax.

Evening all. Did a little gym work, then came home and watched the soccer game (England once again broke hearts, but Spain was better) then went back and did some more pedaling just because, and have just finished some sammiches for dinner. It’s piano weather (88F) outside so no plans to move mouch at all for the remainder of the evening. I did do one constructive thing; solved the NY TImes Sunday crossword puzzle all by myself, only happens about 20% of the time. Waiting now for the start of the Argentina v Colombia soccer game.

Oopsie, yeah for the dog grooming, hope Bailey enjoyed it. Reminds me that I need to check if ‘Girl With the Dogs’ has updated (note: she has), that will give me something to watch before bedtime.

JtC, thanks for the education. I think my water bill has gone up by a few dollars a month, nothing drastic but with all the building and apartments/condos going in around here, I am sure it may be a stress for them.

Interesting stories all about the silverware. Don’t think I have anything special, most of my stuff is Wal-Mart quality and Brother and SIL have all the nice stuff (since they are responsibile people who take care of it and…I’m not…)

Pilot, owwie. I used to have a scratched cornea issue, seemed every 4-6 months but it wasn’t that painful, just damned uncomfortable. Will an eye-patch help? (used to need one when I scratched mine). Hope it heals up soon.

flyboy, bad luck on the paint running, hope it works out without too much extra labor.

And that’s about all. Think I’ll call Brudder before getting settled in for the soccer game, so have a good night all and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

I’ll give it another hour. If it’s still tacky, I’ll give up for tonight and call technical support tomorrow. You’re supposed to let the last colour coat dry for 10 minutes, and then apply the clearcoats.

A few years ago, the cousins that put it together gave me a pass on bringing food, given the distance and that I set up the family picture table. It works for me.

Sounds good or brownies and ice cream.

Respite care is truly important when caring for someone with dementia. I’m glad that your friend could get out.

Home again, home again, jiggity-jog!

Had a good drive home. It was 68F when I left this morning and 100F when I got in this afternoon. Stuff is put away and I’ve napped and et. Tomorrow, I’ll do a load of laundry, pay bills, pick up a prescription and buy a few groceries.

One of the things about setting up the picture display at the reunion is that people bring more of them to me. One cousin brought an 8X10 colorized studio pic of another cousin (who is deceased). The only copy that I have is a B&W wallet one. Once I scan this one, photoshop it to remove the blemishes that have occurred since 1959 and made copies, I’ll frame the original for the subject’s daughter. Another cousin brought her son’s USMC pics for the military album with a promise to message his Army ones once he gets them (he recently changed branches of service). The one that I absolutely fell in love with though was of my cousins Steve and William when they were ~6 or 7 years old doing dishes at my grandparents’ kitchen sink. William’s family lived with my grandfather at the time and Steve’s family lived next door. They were cute little farts!

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

So it is the battery/alternator/gremlins afflicting Carmen. So much for not spending money. But at least I don’t have to tip the bartender for this Wisconsin Old Fashioned I made.

Attic beds are for when you’re in an English novel, and need somewhere to stash your mad wife till the new governess discovers your Awful SecretTM

Zod or Landru

Ouch on the cornea, Pilot. Hope the Ophtho can fix it up for you.

I gave up for tonight, and I’ll call technical support tomorrow.

Happy Sunday!

Another hot day here.

Ouchie, Pilot

Another day of not getting much done, but yet getting stuff done. Piddly stuff like filling soap dispensers.
My doctor signed the form for me to get handicapped tags this week. I was able to apply for that online today instead of going into the MVA tomorrow.

I have a lot of running to do tomorrow and it makes me tired to think about it.

Sorry about speechifying but I’ve spent the last couple of years watching cactus die of the heat. Global warming aka Rapid Climate Change is a thing that is really happening and is horrifying. IMO.

While I am quite sure that nobody would look side eyed at us if we picked up pizza or something, this will be my first time attending that I have had a kitchen. I can’t go empty handed.

I picked date bars because every other time we’ve been at the family reunion, there were many different sorts of amazing brownies and I was wanting to bring something that wouldn’t be judged by the other offerings.

OMG, I am dying now. I can’t breathe, I"m laughing so hard.

Hubs just caught GG pushing the toilet lid open so he could get a drink and the outrage was hysterical.

While my solution would be to keep the bathroom doors closed, I’m quite sure that won’t be acceptable for Hubs. I’ll keep you posted on the high tech /s ways he finds to keep the terlit lid closed.

I need to go wipe my eyes, catch you all in the next MMP.

How does the week go by so fast?
I have an interview tomorrow, its 2 bus’s but I’m desperate.
Now I still need that letter from the last job, I don’t know whats wrong with them.

Okay, might as well ask the prophet:
Will I get this job tomorrow?

@discobot fortune

:crystal_ball: It is decidedly so

We’ll see about that, bub.

He’s one talented puddy tat, he is!

I thought the lid bonked G.G. on the head & misunderstood the source of the outrage.

Lotsa lightning when I was heading home, and I can hear distant thunder. Thank the gawds I left Coolio running, as the hyoomidididity is already quite oppressive.

Working open → close is tiring. Imma veg for a while.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
