Why do all older books I read (Gulliver’s Travel’s, Count of Monte Cristo, Last of the Mohicans, etc.) have single quotes in all of the dialogue? When did it change?
Single quotes are still commonly used in Britain.
In Spanish, they don’t used quotation marks for dialogue but dashes.
