Old gambling games

In a recent Slate Explainerarticle, 12 gambling games outlawed in California were listed:

“faro, monte, roulette, lansquenet, rouge et noire, rondo, tan, fan-tan, seven-and-a-half, twenty-one, and hokeypokey…horse stud poker”

I’ve heard of faro (due to Wyatt Earp) and, of course, know roulette and can find information on lansquenet and fan-tan. I assume monte is three-card monte and twenty-one is blackjack. If I’m wrong, please correct me.

However, I can’t seem to find any information on rondo, rouge et noire, tan, seven-and-a-half, hokeypokey and horse stud poker. Anyone know how these games were played?

Seven-and-a-half.

hokeypokey-You put your left foot in, you put your left foot out.

Monte is more likely Monte Bank, three card monte being named for it.

Can’t help on the others.
