(Old) Hunt for Bed October in the MMP

Probably not till spring. There’s too much work going on and to be finished, so it’s not safe for him.

We’re feeding him what the kennel said they’d been feeding him. Except for the half cup or so of wet food. But giving him less for supper seemed to work - 4 hours later and no hork.

He definitely needs obedience training. He wants to play rough sometimes and while he doesn’t bite down, I still don’t want his mouth wrapped around my hand. So we need to get on that post-haste.

I’ve been watching a 1981 production of Great Expectations on BritBox. I read the book but honestly, I hardly remember any of it - in fact it’s as if I never read it at all. Very strange.

Not sure what’s on tap for tomorrow. I will do a load of laundry one day early, just because I need something to do. I also need to wash several dining room chairs - THANKS, TOBIAS!! Plus I need to put a clean tablecloth and place mats on it - because of lemonade spilled on the previous one - THANKS, TOBIAS!! I should rollsuck too.

For now, tho, I’m thinking early bedtime. I’m dragging.

Here is an actual candid photo of my face right now: . (Not pictured: my hair. Just imagine the love child between the bride of Frankenstein and Don King.) First off, my washer quit. I’d stripped the bed and loaded the sheets, etc. in the washer, along with my jammies. It wouldn’t turn on. I tested the circuit breaker twice, and that’s not the issue. So I’ll have to put in a maintenance request, and it’ll probably take him a couple of days to get to it. I guess I’ll have to load everything into the babushka cart and walk the mile to the nearest laundromat tomorrow. Dang it.

Then I called the medical supply place again today, as they’d told me on Monday to do so because the sleep doc’s notes (supposedly sent to them on Friday) hadn’t gone through the proper channels to get the hold off my account. So I called today. Same report except now I’m to call back Monday. I’m already almost 2 weeks overdue to change the mask.

Max’s person tells me she is shopping for a gun. She’s liberal and understandably alarmed by what’s happening in Portland. Hegsteth’s speech alarmed and angered her so much that she decided she needed a weapon for self-defense. (Max’s only offensive tactic is smothering with kisses.) Politics aside, this has me alarmed. I’m not anti-gun, but I don’t think she even knows how to shoot one. I am going to be very, very careful when I go over to pick up the dog. Knock, knock. “Klaatu barada nikto!”

I did not call the rheumatologist yet. Today was shot day, and I decided that was enough pain for one day. I’ll try to get myself psyched to do it tomorrow.

Shouldn’t that be paired with some strange but unrelated photo as clickbait?

I read that as “excellent onions for our relationship.” You might be onto something there. What good relationship couldn’t be improved by an onion or two? Welcome back! Glad you had such a great time.

Taters, so glad you’re back in the PNW! Washington missed you.

Oopsie, yay on getting the audition! Fingers are crossed–not that you need them.

hippie, I’m amazed by your artistry. Wow, that’s gorgeous!

BooFae, no photos of the kittens? Maybe they’re too young for a cat tax, but they must be beyond adorable.

That’s the coolest thing I’ve heard in a long time, maybe ever!

This should be embroidered on a cushion somewhere.

Yeah. Mo onions mo bettah!

We ate our first pizza together. Same ingredient choices. A good onion indeed.

Oops. Meant to mention hippie’s superb quilting. Bravo you talented dude you! Truly outstanding in your field !

And good evening all. Soccer has been practiced and 10 year olds yelled at (there are times I regret paddling is not allowed anymore…) and ham-and-cheesers consumed (I keep burning the bread, however). I now have 10 new Large polo shirts from various places and think I’ll hold at that for the time being. Will add a similar number of my XL shirts to the donation pile for Purple Heart and hang on to several just in case I encounter too many 5 Guys fries one day…

VanGo, looking forward to pictures of the ‘plinko piano’

I’ll take your word for it, because I never heard of her (was she related to Duncan Hines, by any chance?

Pilot, guess I’ve been lucky the times I’ve traveled business/first class, never had that long await that I can recall. But knowing the important people (stewardesses) obviously did wonders for your morale. Hope GF can get the damage repaired.

As I’ve mentioned, I open up the bedroom windows before bedtime but usually have to close them and turn on the AC before noon…one of these days it will cool down…

And I’m afraid I’d be like your housekeeper, JTC; not a fan of anything hot and spicy, and that includes what you consider mild. Enjoy the rambling, the pizza, and the cider tomorrow and don’t forget to report it all to us…

swampy, sounds like you had a good feed today and another one tomorrow, so watch your weight there!

FCM, Otis may have not had as generous a ration as you probably gave him, thus horkage. And training is always a good idea with large dogs.

nellie, ever though of getting a kids wagon to help haul stuff? I have one for my soccer stuff and it’s invaluable and folds up nicely to fit into a small space. And hopefully Max’s person will get proper training on it and not just ‘have a gun’.

I concur, or on a T-shirt.

And that’s all for this report. Tired and will head off to bed early tonight, so probably catch y’all tomorrow.

The hard way, with counted stitches not a printed on pattern. Let’s make the canvas off-grain too, just in the spirit of harder.

Dang! Cumin doesn’t even pack heat. I guess the part of the south that I’ve lived in kind of had a hankering for peppers (Nashville hot chicken, anyone?).

He’s actually outstanding in three fields, quilting, fire alarm systems and bagel lunch dates.

I was in the old apt 5 years. Didnt realize how attached I got to it.
Was feeling bad. Then I prayed and the mood lifted.
Also I switched the side the bed and couch are on; may switch them back.
Had the window open. Theres Moley at the window!
Meow.
I know my job, go out and provide tuna.

My morale was fine. 35 years of airline life gives one a PhD in Zen. GF was apoplectic; back in the day her supervisor would’ve killed these workers.

IMO the problem was simple: 3 people to do the work of 10. In the internet age, all the quick easy problems are self-serve. Leaving only the 15 minute disasters to be dealt with by overworked staffers. From long experience, AA hates headcount and will gladly sacifice customer service to save one person’s wage.

Once aboard, Breanna provided multiple cocktails before pushback and all became well.

Forgot- when I went into dr office, my bp was 142/85.
After my visit, she took it again-132/70.
Calm breathing, and picturing yourself falling asleep help.

I was on Top White again, but they switched out one of the cars. Some British company had a like an 80 gallon of disinfectant shipment. Wonder if they know something?

Glad you had a good visit!

So that didn’t post for…reasons.

Up from naptime. Tonight’s dinner is chicken and cavatappi with spinach with Katamala olives and 'shrooms. And a martini. New PC will be here tomorrow.

:+1:
And yay for job choices.

Outstanding.

That’s good. We’ll feel the hit starting next week.
Good luck with the choral audition!

Cumin? That’s peak Midwest White People Spice Level.

She is The One.

Anybody know if’n we can post videos here, and how to do that?

As with all media: Post it to a 3rd party sharing site then post a link to your shared item hosted there on here.

See here if you want to use YouTube to host your vids:
How to avoid the YouTube posting bug

A Canadian group on Farcebook posted a cartoon of a Canadian beaver holding shut a door to the United States. I commented support of Canada. Some old guy in Pennsylvania posted several comments referring to me as ‘gay’, a ‘faggot’, a ‘homo’, and a couple of other homophobic slurs. And he repeated his insults. I’m straight, OK? I don’t GAF what this moron thinks. In the immortal words of Popeye the Sailor, ‘I yam what I yam.’ He can stew in his own hatred. But, man, how easily he’s triggered! Poor little snowflake! I hurt his feel-feels! I mean, he kept calling me a homosexual as if it’s some sort of insult! Oh, well. He’s old and will probably die soon.

ETA: My farcebook account is now restricted because I called out the fascist.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 13c/55f with a predicted high of 17c/63f and cloudy. Weather app is unimpressed and says “Fucking cloudy as fuck.” Well, it’s definitely cloudy out there.

Sounds like he’s already having fun with you!

I am so glad you enjoyed the trip, must be good for your heart and soul too

I’m glad you had fun, the solo stuff went well, and you spent some quality time with GF. Good omens are always welcome!

That sounds like it’s working out perfectly for you. Best of luck with the audition!

How could anyone fail to like Nelson? I’m glad he’s added your apartment manager to his fan club.

Enjoy the trip! Our leaves are beginning to turn but there’s still a lot of green out there. Nothing as spectacular as yours, I’m sure.

That’s very sad news, and I can understand your concern if she doesn’t really know what she’s doing with one. Gives me a feeling of more harm than good :frowning:

They certainly are - there are pics on FB if you can get onto that.

I hope his account was restricted for hurling insults in the first place. Sadly, that’s all the fascists are able to do since they can’t justify their actions, so they resort to childish behaviour.

Yesterday evening at the pub was fun, but it was a late night and I was awake before the alarm went off. The trains were a mess today because of an incident further up the line from my home station but I still managed to get here on time. Out again tonight as we’ve got tickets for a band we both like - it will be a slightly strange one because they only announced a few days ago that they’d parted company with their guitarist at least a month ago!

I’m here! I’m here!

Skimmed my way through the past couple days. Retained little other than a welcome to Otis and beautiful work by Hippie.

Today is my Friday, technically. And I have an IEP meeting this afternoon. Should be interesting as the primary contact’s emails started rejecting and calls went straight to voicemail. Fortunately the student is of age, so they have been invited. It will be interesting to see if they show up. I say that it is technically my Friday because we’ve now got a 5 day advance deadline for submitting IEPs for review and the next one has to be completed by tomorrow so I can submit it. Hopefully I can get it done today instead. This would be especially ideal because MusicMan has to go to the VA hospital in Cleveland for an appointment and I’d like to go with him.

Well, maybe I’ll go and jump back into next week’s IEP now like a responsible adult. Heh.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 82 and sunny. As I mentioned in my last post, we shall be bears who lunch at GC. Afterwards we will go to Aldi’s to pick up the few provisions we need. The rest of the day will be spent in nappage, day drinkin’ and assorted other RDOS inactivities.

Pilot glad gf and you had such a great trip. Sounds like she is a keeper.

Taters welcome back! Glad you had a great time visitin’ your daughter, sil, and the grands.

Oopsie appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the audition. Not like you will need it though, as I know you will blow their socks off.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I know each word, but when you string them together ???

Taters - forgot to welcome you back, but WELCOME BACK!!! I can’t imagine living far from my grands…

What a night!!! I woke a bit after midnight, freezing and itchy! It dropped into the low 50s and couple that with the ceiling fan (not my choice) - the blanket and comforter weren’t enough. Once I pulled an afghan under and wrapped it around my carcass, I was better, but then the poison ivy itchies kicked into high gear. So I took an antihistamine and played some tablet games till I couldn’t stay awake and I finally crashed till a tad after 7 this morning.

Apart from a little laundry, today will unfold as it will. Like an adventure! Or a boring novel. And so it goes.

Happy Thursday!!

I hadn’t, either. She was huge in Minneapolis and well-known in the eastern nightclub circuit. She sang with some big names like Ella and Basie and was friends with Maya Angelou.
