You know how most old people have that funny smell about them? And they have that real distinct smelling breath? I’m only 29 and all of a sudden I can taste that disgusting breath in my mouth. And I brush my teeth and use mouthwash twice a day! I dont’ think it’s something I ate recently as I’ve had this problem for a couple days now. What causes this and how can you prevent it? I dont’ want to be in my 30s and smell like a 60year old man!

If you’ve only had this problem for a couple of days then why not wait a while and see if it clears up. Bad breath is a common enough problem, and I wouldn’t get too worried just yet. I believe the bad smell comes from nasty bacteria living on your tongue.
Or you could have an abcess or something. When I had an abcessed tooth it didn’t even hurt to begin with, my mouth just tasted (and probably smelled) foul.
i have noticed that mouthwash makes my breath smell. i never have bad breath (i ask people all the time) and when i brush a lot and use moutwash, the stench is there.
my secret to good breath is to always swish water around your mouth after ever meal, and then in between as well. also, i never drink anything but water and natural juices, and i even wash the mouth out after drinking juice. try it and drop the moutwash.
by the way, this has nothing to do with old people! olds just don’t take care of themselves as much and aren’t as healthy, that’s why they smell…
Some older people have dental problems and some have reduced mobility which makes it difficult to wash everyday. Hope your younger generation has more pity on you when you get old and taking a daily shower is a major, and potentially dangerous, endeavor .
BTW I rarely smell “old people smell” on 60 somethings. It’s really sort ofa 70’s, 80’s thing and usually only when physical problems are present that compromise hygiene.
You need to floss every night!!! Trust me. It will get rid of that “old man’s breath” smell!!!
