Awaiting my tour at Hidden River Cave (this part of Kentucky has multiple show caves, Mammoth is simply the largest). Will find a place for dinner when done here, a place called Five Broke Girls caught my eye, I’ll check it out. Otherwise will catch my breath for tomorrow’s long (4-5 hours) cave tour.
And tour should be starting in about 3-4 minutes so back later from the depths of the earth.
Walked outside for my “lunch” break and nearly gagged. Walked in front of a lady waiting at the drive-thru, and joked, "I came out for a smoke break, but … "
She totally got the joke, and yelled, “Just take a big breath, save some money!”
It’s ridiculous out here, and I feel so bad for the Canadians who have it much worse. We’re just getting your blow-through.
Do you plan to grow your hair long or will you stick with wigs?
FCD wanted Cracker Barrel catfish, so that’s where we had supper. I went with the veggie plate. Now we’re home and I’m going to veg. Tonight I’ll sleep with Mel - the last couple of nights I didn’t fall asleep till after midnight. Ugh.
Went to my last post op eye appointment.
All is healed. He gave me my prescrip for lenses and says my medicaid Should cover it.
Church dinner had sloppy joes, mac and cheese and salad.
Me:“Is this from a head of lettuce?”
“No, its prepackaged.”
I did not eat it. Do they not know?
Tomorrow is training. Im hoping I get another free bowl.
My friend in Indiana and I sent cards, its more fun than texting, and I went to the dollar store and found a good one. 54 cents.
Wait, says the cashier, someone donated 50 cents so youre good to go.
Except for white windows and doors, the walls and ceilings were all beige when we bought the house. The girls picked colours for the walls in their bedrooms – pink for the elder and two shades of orange (dark orange on the east and west walls, light orange on the north and south) – and Lady SCAdian’s office/crafts room is now lavender. We were going to paint our bedroom walls a medium shade of blue but never got around to it, and the rest of the house is still the same as when we moved in.
I have an excellent eye for color. The living room has two light green walls, the upstairs hall is a pleasant light honey yellow, and the rest is cream. The exterior is dark grern in the grey range, with warm brown accents and creamy white trim.
I’d go get my scrip but the cat is lying across my ankle.
Howdy Y’all! Mowage got accomplished and then I went into high RDOS mode. Nappage and day drinkin’ were also accomplished. OYKW grilled the chikin whilst I made sallit and bizkits. Sup was yum. One of our favorite Summer sups! I am feelin’ tahrd, so believe I will make an early night of it.
do you remember back in the '50’s and '60’s when jokes were told about a dumb foil and they said the foil was Polish. Dad was highly offended. He would tell the same joke to others but would say the dumb foil was Irish.
I wore a mask the entire time we were outside in the park. The park manager let us use a Cushman (glorified golf cart) to drive around the park; the breeze was nice but the smoke was not.
The AQI in northern Mitten is over 400 and even over 500 in the UP.
A while back I read that some people can actually see pictures in their minds. If you tell them to picture an apple in their mind, they can see an apple.
Some folks, like me, cannot achieve anything like that. I can tell you what an apple looks like but I cannot see the apple or even just the shape or color.
I can’t pick my own colors for anything. I can’t visualize colors next to each other, I have to see them together but forget what I just saw as soon as I add another color into the mix.
I know what I like and I know what I want, even if I can’t see it. It took four paint samples to find one color and now it will take another four or five to find the trim.
Oh well, its not like I have anything else to do.
I’m so sorry that folks are suffering through this. People can find AC, the wildlife is really taking a hit.
So…who’s the Devil’s Lettuce now?
I hope you folks don’t sell salads as well, that kerfluffle is quite the mess.
When I worked in Prescott, I watched two lovely historical Victorian homes get painted and spruced up. Just the high cone shaped roofs took forever and then the painting started. Your guy was fast, the places I saw were half year projects each.
Good evening. Yoga tonight was a Power Flow. This teacher - her power flows are not aerobic workouts like some. We’re moving slowly and deliberately the whole time, but my god do I feel like lve been run through the wringer.
I… I… I have no words.
There’s the rub. I think there’s a limit to what minoxidil and estradiol can do for the top of my head. Mrs Magill will have to discuss options.
And now I want chicken fried steak.
Fingers crossed for you.
I’d always been partial to Cinnamon Life.
For me, it’s not so much seeing the image of an apple, but rather my brain pulls up a collection of apple images that I’ve seen.
Tim (may he rest in peace) worked with four of his brothers (they were members of my home parish), so there were five guys and a couple of helpers working, but still…
My favorite house ever had Pepto pink walls. We made it work with furnishings and it was all right. We did end up repainting eventually.
I’ll post a couple of pictures of the color and if you like it, I can send you the color code.
Hmmmppfff!!
This does not surprise me! And skritches back to Nelson!
shoe, it sounds utterly miserable. I hope the nasty air and heat pass soon.
I visualize what is to my mind a generic apple, but with additional description, I get several mind pictures of different apples. Brains be weird, eh?
Me, either. Had a fit of giggles, though.
Ciabatta bread is made and turned out well. So help me, I made another batch of avocado chocolate pudding, which will serve as salad and dessert for the next few days. Ollie got his bath. I sorted and rearranged some things in one of my guest rooms till I got sick of that.
I was going to make a little pizza for dinner, but I didn’t want to reheat the oven. The bread was enough baking for today. So I made a nice tuna salad sandwich with some of the Ciabatta and finished off the little tub of Minestrone soup I defrosted for last night’s dinner.
Was a pretty good day.
Some pics to show my commitment to color:
Yes, that is a purple sofa in the lower left hand corner.
The big yellow wall that is also the big yellow ceiling and required painting 3 times. Not Waffle House Yellow!
Below, house color. The maple tree grew a bit in between these 2 photos. I may have underestimated how much that tree would grow when I planted it. Ollie to the right sneaking away in the last shot.
What a gorgeous maple! I love the shape and color! I also see pictures in my mind, and despite my leaning toward more neutral colors, I do have an eye for color. The bedrooms and the bonus room will be a soothing and calming green…somewhere in the sage color, but I haven’t decided if I am going with cool or warm version yet.
