I’m going to go ahead and nominate Paul Stanley from Kiss. Has anyone seen pictures of him lately? The man is looking alarmingly like a cross between Snape from the Harry Potter movies and Michael Jackson these days.
Am I the only one who saw Linda Evans on Oprah? Gah! Such a pretty woman in her day. Now with all the plastic surgery and lip filler, she looks like the “Madam” puppet.
Yes and no. Nicholson kept on doing the same schtick for a long time, even after it ceased being cool.
On the other hand, he’s made some very good movies in recent memory in which he WASN’T just doing his standard Crazy Jack routine, in which he played remarkably ordinary men in their Sixties.
Nicholson was very effective in “The Pledge” and “About Schmidt” precisely because he showed a willingness to play old, uncool men who were NOTHING like Randle P. McMurphy or the Joker.
And even when he is in Crazy Jack mode, there are still moments where it really, really works, like in The Departed.
I’m a few months older than Cher, and I ***never ***looked that good. On the other hand, I have not spent one cent on cosmetic surgery (and yes, it shows).
Ted Neeley, still playing Jesus in Jesus Christ, Superstar 41 years later. Still looks damn good for pushing 70, but come on.
This is aging gracefully (Jamie Lee Curtis) - she has wrinkles and grey hair, and she looks fantastic.
This in not (Barry Manilow) - he looks like he wants to eat babies.
This is definitely not (Joan Van Ark) - bad, bad plastic surgery.
Adam West and William Shatner don’t really look like charactatures of themselves, which is what the OP asked for, they just play charactatures of their own personalities.
I heard Shatner being interviewed a few years ago, and he’s definitely conscious of the fact that a good chunk of his career has been playing a weird, exaggerated version of himself. I’d be pretty certain the same is true for Adam West.
If only Adam West had played Captain Kirk, with Shatner as Batman…
Actually, I think Carol looks pretty good in those pictures - she’s toned down her hairstyle (which used to look sort of like a white Sideshow Bob), and looks her age. The lipstick is a bit much, true, but I think we can allow her a trademark or two.
Nicholson’s Mad Jack shtick has gotten very old, but he certainly can act when someone takes the time to make him do it. He was excellent as Jimmy Hoffa.
