I don’t need much character in a centerfold.
I haven’t picked up a Playboy in years, and in any case I’m not ready to confront a Playmate that was born in the Reagan administration.
I think the previous upper-age record Playmate was Kathy Shower, in the mid-80s, who was 33
And yes, they make a distinction between the celebrity-feature nude pictorials, and the Playmates, who get the Centerfold. They stopped using celebrity (or pseudo-celebrity) models as Playmates in the 1950s, claiming to prefer “girl next door” types. Of course, once Hef moved to Cali, the girls next door became surgically-enhanced aspiring-actress model/dancer types.
And the moment the girl was younger than yourself is nothing. Think on when you pick up the mag and find out the girl was born after you already could buy the magazine legally (Jul. 1979, Thank U very much…). That gives you pause.
Tiffany Sloan was the first Playmate younger than me, Dinsdale. I remember that moment very distinctly. It was a little milestone of manhood. The Playmates were no longer unattainable older women. They were now merely unattainable.
Glad to know I’m not alone - there’s all you other pervs out there.
I guess it probably has something to do with the fact that the Playmate/age crossover occurs around age 18-20 - a time when young men will have ready access to the mag, and may well be just about as interested in such things as at other time in their lives.
Hmm. I wonder if there is a possibility of a government grant in there somewhere?
It was Terri Moore, known and loved by animation fans as the star of Mighty Joe Young, the original version from back in 1949 (!!!). She appeared in Playboy nude in 1987, and, as you say, still looked great. Unless she appeared in MJY when she was 16 – and I don’t – she was significantly older than 54.
Damned Playboy referred to MJY as an “obscure film”, too. Bastards. And no, it wasn’t tongue-in-cheek.
According to the IMDb, Mighty Joe Young’s star was Terry Moore who was born on 7 January, 1929 and mentions her Playboy pictorial as a 1984 event.
