olives in glass jars

In the column on why green olives came in glass jars and black olives came in cans, you said that glass wouldn’t stand the heat of processing. I don’t think that is true as my parents used glass jars to can everything that they canned and they proccessed in both a hot water bath and a pressure cooker.

I rather think that the report is in need of a little updating. It seems to create rather more confusion than most, and as it stands is clearly incomplete.
