I just found out that my neighbor is in the hospital most likely because she was bitten by a black widow! She’s been in there for three days!
I had called another neighbor for some trivial stuff and she told me the news, plus informed me that she gets sprayed every 6 weeks for poisonous spiders. She’s found five black widows recently.
I saw a dead spider on our porch about a week ago that was solid black, thought it might be a black widow, but didn’t think much of it because it was dead.
I used to have problems with brown recluse spiders. I have the bug man come every 6 months to spray now. That seems to do the trick. I don’t mind seeing a spider or two around the house but I worry about my kids playing on the floor or taking a nap on the floor and having one of these things come bite them!! I was bit on the back of my shoulder by one about 5 years ago and it hurt like you would not believe. I can just imagine how much it could hurt for a child! I would suggest having someone come spray your house just to be safe!!
