He makes Sepp Blatter look like a choirboy

And Sepp Blatter made João Havelange look like a saint. This progression is remarcable, an even steeper curve that the incompetence of British Prime Ministers, who have all been making Chamberlain look competent and resolute since at least David Cameron, or John Major even. It is a weird thing to behold.

Arsenal blew a 2-goal lead over bottom feeder Wolves. With just a 5-point lead over Manchester City but having played one game more, they are facing a real threat of bottling their chance at their first championship since 2003.

You can’t read a football section or watch ESPN FC these days without seeing a shot of Arteta looking pensive on the sideline. And deservedly so.

So you’re saying this season isn’t a total loss for Spurs.

Everybody loves an underdog, right? Norway’s Bodo/Glimt win both games in the CL playoffs against Inter and make it to the round of 16.

I don’t know anything about Bodo/Glimt, but apparently the town is just north of the Artic circle and only has like 40k people? Wow.

Inter Milan payroll €135M, Bodo Glimt payroll €8M

I remember Bodo/Glimt from last season’s Europa League semifinal.

Barcelona is really struggling with Newcastle’s intensity the first 12 minutes. Not watching much EPL this year, but surprising to me for the Spanish league leagues vs 12th in the EPL. Early though.

While Atletico smash the Spurs and Bayern Atalanta.

ETA: just read the live ticker, the Spurs goalie Kinsky gave away two goals and got subbed in minute 17. That’s tough and normally only happens in (ice)hockey.

At least the replacement gave up a goal immediately too as some consolation.

The second goal he gave up was really bad.

I just watched the Spurs game summary. Seems like they had all put on the wrong shoes…

What were they wearing, clown shoes? I think they might have been wearing those all season, would explain a few things…

May well have been clown shoes, at least they didn’t have studs judging by how often their goalie and defenders landed on their asses.

The way Atlético keeps the grounds has often been critizised, and right now it seems to be particularly egregious. Link in Spanish from a Barcelona newspaper decrying that the same happened in the Copa del Rey, when Barça lost 4:0 after similar errors by the goalie and other players.
Of course they would say that, I am sorry to admit. Still, it has been a well known Atlético tactic for many years, and Mourinho tried something similar several years ago when Barça was at Messi’s peak. The deplorable state of the lawn was not the only reason Barça lost, and concerning the Spurs, I have no clue what’s wrong with them this season, but it may have played a minor role.

At least I haven’t read about anybody from the Spurs team and staff making that excuse.

Or UCL broadcast.
