Constant? Yeah, every president since Johnson has achieved a goal of reforming the US healthcare system. Right.
So why is Obamacare remotely remarkable?
It’s the closest we’ve come yet to universal health care. We did Medicare, Medicaid, then SCHIP, and now ACA. It’s a patchwork to be sure, and I hate a lot of it, but I also think it’s better than single payer, not worse. Except for cost, of course.
You know what compromise I’d take? To put everyone on ACA and abolish Medicare.
