On failing a background check, advise needed.

Your thoughts?
To whom it may concern,

I apologize for the issues raised during my background check.

Allow me to make clear that there was never any intent to conceal any part of my employment history. When I realized I had not listed my short term employment with Y and Z, I made sure it was listed for the background check. With my background never being an issue before, I did not realize the questions that could arise and I now understand that I should have also informed <this company> of this additional information.
Again, I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue and will answer any questions needed to clarify this situation.

Sincerely
Pixilated

Update:

She’s back at work today. And since her boss agrees with our opinion that this was pretty much a waste of everyone’s time he’s insisting that HR approve her being paid for last week.

So she’s been there a month and already had a week’s paid vacation. Maybe I’d be a bit less annoyed if it had been much less stressful.

Considering where upon reading the thread title, my imagination ran, this seems fairly innocuous and easily explained.

You never know what kind of past crimes and misdemeanors, especially in southwest Arkansas, could be dug up on a background check.
