On-line clock?

I have a problem that perhaps others have as well: my computer clock keeps getting slower and slower.

Is there an on-line clock service my computer can occasionaly access and re-align itself to the true time?

yes,http://www.worldtimeserver.com/

if your computer clock keeps getting slower and slower, there’s a good chance that your CMOS battery is weak. Get a new battery.

Otherwise, there is software to align your computer clock.

if Nada’s link doesn’t help, let me know and i’ll post another…

Uh, I’m looking on the back and underneath my computer for the access panel for this battery…do I have to pull off the entire housing of my tower?

Its an etower 333k.

Yes you will have to take the cover off. The battery is on your motherboard. It should be silver and about the size of a quarter.

Try

http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/ats.htm .

It is a program that will automatically set your clock according to NIST.

While you are there, try out some of his other programs. He likes writing software that is small and efficient.

I like the Beatnik Internet Clock at http://www.somedec.com/

Just a guess; are you using a P2P file sharing client? I found that several of these will slow my clock down.
