Friday. Opinion is divided on whether it suits me!
Boy does this make me glad to have been born on one of the few holidays that occurs only on a specific day of the week.
Sunday.
A Rainy day on a Monday.
Apparently My father was the one rolled in a wheelchair as he had the flu.
I was born on Thanksgiving, so it had to have been a Thursday.
“…Thursday’s child has far to go…”
That fits me SO well.
For a supposed “Uniform Distribution” the Saturday Baby crowd is noticeably absent from this thread!
Maybe this mention will improve the situation from:
On which day of the week were you born?
Sunday 28 14.36%
Monday 23 11.79%
Tuesday 23 11.79%
Wednesday 36 18.46%
Thursday 35 17.95%
Friday 30 15.38%
Saturday 20 10.26%
Voters: 195
Election Day '84, so Tuesday.
Sunday: so I’m Bonnie, Blythe, good and… Bisexual.
I had to do chores on saturday, and on my birthday having to work hard for a living seemed so unfair.
Another Wednesday Child here, as is Mrs JustinC.
Woeful? Nah.
Thor’s Day
A Wednesday, of course. Wednesday’s child is full of woe and all that.
So much for a mention of the Saturday number making a difference. Can you believe this:
On which day of the week were you born?
Sunday 31 14.42%
Monday 24 11.16%
Tuesday 26 12.09%
Wednesday 42 19.53%
Thursday 38 17.67%
Friday 34 15.81%
Saturday 20 9.30%
Voters: 215.
What’s with those outliers Wednesday and Saturday? The distribution would look fairly even and random without them.
Remember that MANY births are planned c-sections and inductions. It would be unusual to plan those procedures on a weekend. This poll actually looks like a bell curve to me.
I found this article (warning: PDF) from 1983 that mirrors our data somewhat. It cites previous studies too.
So it would appear. Weird.
I was born on Easter Sunday was was delivered by a bunny, not a stork.
On which day of the week were you born?
Sunday 35 14.77%
Monday 27 11.39%
Tuesday 26 10.97%
Wednesday 45 18.99%
Thursday 43 18.14%
Friday 37 15.61%
Saturday 24 10.13%
Voters: 237
When you consider that 1/7 = 14.29% it’s not too hard to accept that this “uniform distribution” is just momentarily out of whack, right? Or do we have a truly abnormal occurrence at SDMB?
