Once I discovered ____ I knew I'd never go back to _____ .

…sex with women…masturbation.

Oh, how I wish this were true!

The Colbert Report…Network TV News

Portable MP3 Players … CDs and tapes

homebrewed beer … “megabrews”

I suppose it depends on whether you’re talking about Tivo ™ the brand name or tivo the synonym for DVR. I haven’t lived anywhere that I could get cable TV in 20 years, but I have a combo DVR/satellite controller and it’s wonderful.

Real Parmesan cheese…the canned crap

Commuting by bus…driving myself to work (though I may not have much choice on this :()

online bill pay…paying bills by check and having to find stamps

reading the paper online…a dead-tree paper that has to be dealt with somehow when you’re done with it

My Honda Civic…my Pontiac Sunfire

a dishwasher…washing dishes by hand (one of the most incomprehensible things to me is people who have a dishwasher but never use it)

A two-car garage with one wide single door…two doors separated by a post

I had that done to our garage this summer, mainly because Mr. Neville is not very confident in his driving skills and wasn’t willing to drive in or out of our garage with the post in the center (he was afraid he’d hit it). The single door is so much better, for me as well as for him. If we ever move, we are getting a garage with a wide single door, or having the garage modified so it has one.

ground turkey - ground beef (turkey is less greasy)

whole wheat - white

contacts - glasses (still want to upgrade to LASIK though!)

Depends on how quickly you go through them.

Me, too. And cloth pads as a back up instead of itchy, irritating disposables.

After receiving a sattelite radio subscription as a gift, I’ll never go back to terrestrial radio.

Women…girls.

Wool socks, never go back to any other kind.
How to really eat healthy, never go back to what I did before.

Grana Padano → real “parmesan”

This has been an awesome thread. I have so many questions I don’t know where to start…
*disclaimer: I know I can look these up, but I decided to post back to this forum so that EVERYBODY can be educated in one convenient place.

Pixilated, I’ve never heard of Irish oatmeal. What is it, and why is it better? Also, what is D20?

Nikki Tikki Tavi and even sven: What’s a Diva Cup (it sounds messy), and why is it better?

Mahna Mahna: Same question about Kosher salt. What’s different about Kosher salt versus typical old table salt?

Velma: You’re lucky to have online grocery shopping. I think it was tried and failed here in the Atlanta, GA area. If it’s possible to get that service now, I’m not aware of it.

koeeoaddi: I’ve heard of green tea, What’s red tea? Also, I’m not informed enough about the following foods to even know that there’s that much of a difference. Can you enlighten me on the differences of King salmon versus Atlantic salmon; Dungeness crab versus Alaskan king crab, and Vermont cheddar versus New York cheddar?

Target ~ Walmart

Uni Jetstream pens ~ anything else

how easy it is to do my own nails ~ shelling out $30 every two weeks

buying textbooks cheap on Amazon ~ paying out the nose at the school bookstore

ipod ~ CD players

The cheeses, salmon and crab are really just flavor preferences, Enright. Dungeness crab is delicate, really flavorful and much less ‘fishy’ tasting than Alaskan. Red tea is another name for Rooibos (also known as African Bush Tea). It’s an herbal tea, fragrant, a touch sweet and absolutely wonderful with a little lemon.
