Kittie. They first album (Spit) which they recorded while they were all in high school was excellent. At least, if you’re into screaming chicks with growling guitars. Which I am.
Then the lead guitar split, quickly followed by the bassist. Since they were the ones in the band with the talent, the second album was utter shite. I haven’t listened to their later production (in fact, I had to check Wikipedia to see if they still existed and had published anything after Oracle), but based on a quick YouTube search : they’re still shite, and Morgan still has an ego inversely proportional to her live singing ability.
The first album I thought of was Flirtin’ With Disaster by Molly Hatchet. When I was in my teens, everyone I knew had that album. No one I knew had anything else by Molly Hatchet.
They didn’t have an album called “Coming to America”. I’m sure you meant “Breakfast in America”, which was their biggest hit album, but Supertramp has been huge for a long time. I was surprised to find by the link above that they are most popular in Canada - even more popular than in their home country. Three of their albums went to #1 in Canada, and four were in the top 10. Great, under-rated band. If you get a chance, listen to “Crime of the Century” and “Even in the Quietest Moments”. Two of my favorite albums.
