One click of the mouse = three or four clicks on my desktop

Hello, I am having an odd computer problem after getting rid of a trojan/keylogger. When I give my mouse a single click it automatically bumps it up to a double, triple or even a 4X click. If I try to open a window from a page it will open 3 or 4. Photoshop is hard to work with as well.

I’ve tried to google this problem but I can’t find out anything.

Do you have any suggestions? It’s a software issue I think 'cause I’ve tried a couple of mice.

Thanks!

I hate to state the obvious, but have you checked the mouse settings in the control panel? ( I am assuming a Windows OS here)

Hello and thanks for the help, It wouldn’t be the 1st time that I didn’t look in the most obvious place :smack: :smack: but I did check again and it looks OK. If this was a common malware problem, other dopers might have seen this issue.

I will try another mouse and see if the ones that I tried may both be out of whack.

Try unplugging your mouse, removing it via control panel and then adding it back. If it still misbehaves, try re-loading the drivers for it.

Good luck.
