One day & night in Baltimore

So, we’re heading to Baltimore tomorrow for a quick change of scenery. It looks like maybe the aquarium in the afternoon and a pub crawl in the evening in Fells Point. We’re staying at the Lord Baltimore at 20 West Baltimore St. Any bars in particular we should check out? Craft beers are a plus. How about casual dining in the area? Seafood is high on the list but not an absolute. Lastly, how safe is it to walk in the area of the hotel? We’re likely to Uber/taxi back from Fells Point but would consider walking over.

I never had any problems walking around downtown during the day.
If you like hamburgers you’ve got to try Abby burgers, it’s right in Fell’s point.

Little Italy is right next to Fells Point and it would be a crime for you not to eat there.

My favorite place is Amicci’s, casual and tremendous.

I like the Walters Art Museum

It’s got a bit of everything artwise. And general admission is free.

Since you are planning to go to the National Aquarium, Schillings for the best crab cakes (apart from homemade).

As far as safety goes, always be aware of your surroundings.

Is the 2 o’clock club still open? Or Peabody’s Book store and Beer stube?

You should be fine to walk from your hotel over to Fells Point. I’ve walked from Camden Yards or the Convention Center or Inner Harbor to Fells Point many times. You probably want to walk south from your hotel a couple of blocks to Pratt Street and then head east. Pratt is a very wide, busy street with lots of pedestrians. There are lots of good bars in Fells Point.

I can’t recommend a restaurant, as I haven’t eaten in that area in many years.

Seconded. I love that place. Their red sauce is a thing of joy.

Max’s on Broadway - I think they’re officially Max’s Taphouse - is easily the best craft beer bar in the city. It’s plenty dark and divey, to boot. (737 S Broadway)

ETA: The Lord Baltimore is a bit farther from Fells Point than I expected. Still, Max’s.
