One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Well, tonight’s opening night of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest at my college. Time to see if the cast has managed to pull itself together enough… we’ve had a few cast problems (the guy we got to play Billy Bibbit had a lot of trouble with his lines and character, for instance), but I’m confident that our audiences are gonna love it.

Oh, and for the curious, I play Ruckley… I get to stand with my arms outstretched like a crucified Chris (they gave me some pegs to rest my arms on, ‘cuz it’s hard to hold your arms up for ten-minute stretcheds) and I get to shout “FUCK 'EM ALL!!!” at the top of my lungs. Oh yeah. This is what bein’ an actor is all about.

Anyone in the San Fernando Valley wanna go see it? It’s at the Pierce community college off of De Soto and Victory, up at the performing arts building (on top of the big hill, you can’t miss it). Tickets are $12, I believe… showtimes are Fri. and Sat. at 7:30, Sun. at 2:00, for this weekend (Nov. 8th) and the next.

Break a leg

be sure to update us on how it went.

ditto on the break a leg

Dammit! I read this post after both legs had already been broken!

Oh well; break an arm!

Can I break the other arm?

He’ll need more pegs if he breaks both his arms.

Hey, come now, nobody’s breaking nothing (except me… a sweat… my arms hurt :D).

Opening night was good. Not great, but good. A pretty small turnout, due to rain, but we gave a great performance.

Unfortunately, nobody in the cast had arranged an opening night party, so I wasn’t able to get plastered last night. Oh well…

Eh. Maybe next time.

[aside]My mom went to Pierce College, way back in the mid-70s. She later transferred to CSUN and graduated with her BA in 1977. I was there. :)[/aside]
