One Hit Wonder Movies

Peter Billingsley - He played Ralphie in “A Christmas Story”

Although, I suspect it’s a bit easier to pull one hit wonders with child actors, this one jumped out at me.

Bad phrasing on my part, sorry. I was talking about movies he wrote, and movies he directed, not movies he wrote and directed. Just that, since this is Tarantino, save for True Romance, he did both for all my examples.

Cmon, don’t you remember The Dirt Bike Kid? Or his cohosting duties on “Real People”?

You can’t really, really count F. Murray Abraham as a one-hit wonder; the man’s a great character actor who gets a lot of work. (Unless I’m missing the definition of “character actor”, of course.)

Billingsley is a producer now. One of his credits is a darn good movie called Made. Jon Favreau directed it; Mr. Rilch was a juicer. We saw the DVD not long ago, and busted a gut. Watch for the scene with Peter Falk, early on. Also, you won’t believe who the architect is, in an even earlier scene.

Also also, you wouldn’t recognize Billingsley if you saw him. He’s morphed into a tall, lean, goodlooking adult. Only thing that’s the same is he’s still blond.
