I posted this question on iLounge as well but it fell off the page and thus went witthout replies…
I recently purchased an iPhone and downloaded some apps through iTunes installed on my home laptop (same iTunes I use for iPod). While at work I downloaded iTunes on my work-laptop as well and authorized that laptop as well…I then went ahead proceeded to download an app via this new iTunes…
How do I know get this app onto my iTunes? When I click ‘synch’ it warns me that it will all current apps and install the app on the iTunes. I tried drap&drop and that’s not working either…
I’m sure it’s a simple solution but I’m just not seeing it or can’t this be done at all??
Can’t be done. It’s a ridiculous ploy by Apple to… Well, I haven’t even figured out a useful nefarious purpose to disallow that. It’s annoying as shit. You’ll also notice that you can’t play the music on your iPhone at work.
I’ll also suggest that you never, EVER install a new update on your iPhone from work. That is when your iPhone is most susceptible to becoming corrupted (not a big deal, because it backs up all your data first) - but the backup at work will not have any of your apps or media. And if your restore file at home hasn’t been updated in a while… Well - it sucks.
Edit: Note - you *can *sync your phone at work with your calendar, and not delete the rest of your music and such.
Doesn’t that mean for paid apps I’d have to pay again? I mean not these apps are that expensive but I don’t see the point of paying twice for something
