One more- Astronomy - Black sky areas?

Ok, while were on an Astronomy roll, help me understand why this is:

As far as we know space and the stars keep on going, right? I mean, we haven’t found and end to them yet.

So why is there “black areas between stars”. Why don’t we see a star ( or light from one ) at every point in the sky?

That’s called “Olber’s paradox,” and it’s due to interstellar dust.

ETA: OK, I see the Cecil say’s it’s not dust…
