One more for the Stupid Injuries File

I have my own stupid injury to add.

Last night I was walking down the short hallway in the house, when I tripped over something. This hallway is quite narrow, and the drywall has started to rot away due to being so old. (It’s the original dry wall that was installed when the house was built, back in the late 40s.) When I tripped, my head connected with the drywall, went through it, and through the drywall on the other side. Luckily I can repair the damage for less than $20.

The thing that makes this a stupid injury? I tripped over a laminated paper map, that had slightly furled at the corners. I didn’t slide on it, but actually tripped over the furled corners.

New submission to the Stupid Injury File™:

I fell asleep Thursday night with my left arm straight over my head, under my body. Apparently, I didn’t move all night. I woke up around 4 a.m with a horrible sharp pain in my shoulder, rolled over and went back to sleep. Friday morning I woke up with a numb hand. It’s now Wednesday morning and my index finger and thumb are still numb. Muscle spasms in my bicep, under my arm around my ribcage, and in my shoulder around my left shoulder blade. Doc says “compressed nerve.”

Yes. I pinched a nerve while sleeping. Sleeping is very dangerous.
