One more Olympics question (volleyball)

Last Olympics question for tonight.

Watching the US men play the Greeks, my wife wondered why one player on each team wore a white jersey. I originally speculated it was the captain. But then the Greek team entered their captain, wearing solid blue and another player on the team was wearing the white jersey.

Then I thought maybe it was a certain position, and it was to make it easier for the officials to notice them, but 2 plays later the US team had nobody wearing white.

So does anyone know why only 1 (and sometimes none) of the players wear white?

Thanks, Reeder.

Can’t I explain the libero rule a third time?

If you must. I’ve never liked hampsters anyway.
