I was talking to my sister on the phone from work when it came on the news she was watching. I could hear Tom Brokaw in the background and all he could talk about was how so many rich celebrities fly the Concorde (he said it twice in about 3 minutes). So I guess we only care about 113 people dying if some of them are celebrities. [sarcasm]German tourists? Who cares? We want dead celebrities.[/sarcasm]
Damn “journalists.” I care.
Well, one wealthy celebrity wasn’t on board. Lance Armstrong, wife and baby were on a different plane out of Paris, flying to New Jersey. This guy’s on a roll – he should buy a Lotto ticket tout de suite.
CNN.com has a photo of the plane trailing flames as long as the fuselage and one witness reported it being on fire before it left the ground.
The biggest reason that the concorde hasn’t been in a crash until now is that they only have 13 total in the world. So if you look at the statistics now it’s one of the worlds unsafest planes with 1 of 13 has crashed. 7.6% of all concordes has crashed. I wonder why they still use concorde, the average plane is 21 years old and they use ALOT of fuel (it even has afterburners). And you can’t go that fast over land because of the sound bang when reaching high-speed.
I feel sorry for all the relatives.
