One road in connecticut closed

OK, we have this mountain called Avon Mountain. Currently one half of the road is closed. I have been figuring for the last hour or so that the drive time girl has been whinging that people need to find alternate routes has had me figuring it is something to do with the DOT surveying or something because there is some sort of safety project going to be started there soon.

Turns out the purported reason is 2 people were shot in Hartford last night, and the police closed ONE direction of ONE road surrounding Hartford because of it.

So … since Hartford is in the center of the state, and has a number of routes going in and out of it in all directions, how is closing one side of one road going to help?

is in mundane and pointless because i really dont think there is a possible explanation of this.

It’s Connecticut. The people in charge of this state are morons. Seriously, I doubt the average IQ of the General Assembly breaks three digits so to expect anyone else to have a lick of common sense is asking a lot.

Don’t get me started on the asinine runaway truck ramp that they built on Avon Mountain…

The cumulative IQ doesnt break 3 digits… what are you talking about!

And I heartily agree that this state is run by morons. The only good thing about our government here was back in the 90s when one of the grocery store papers [weekly world news?] claimed that one of our politicos was an alien… and he played along with it and claimed that it was his parents that were the aliens, he was born here so was still eligible for the presidency. Lieberman maybe?

I actually was one of the few voters in my town that actually managed to vote down the whacktastic line item on the proposed budget for the high school to spend $10,000 on a paper shredder. Yes, ten THOUSAND dollars for a town of under 5000 people for a paper shredder for the school system. :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack:
