One song that would get you out of your chair right now

Either JUMP by Val Halen or RUNNING ON EMPTY by Jackson Browne.

11:30 pm after a long day and a hard workout. The only sound that could get me out of my chair right now is one indicating that the house is on fire.

Watch out! You might get what you’re after.
(I’m not saying it’s a jump around rockin’ jam, but it gets me moving right now.)

Meg Lee Chin-- Swallowing You. Never hear it on the radio, but when it pops up on my player I just need to get up and start breaking stuff.

Brimful of Asha - Cornershop

(although Waving Flag by K’naan has been getting me out of my chair lately, it’s not what I would probably call dancy per se).

This. And also, Aretha Franklin’s “A Natural Woman” (channeling Candace Bergen).

gloria estafan’s ‘conga’ would do the same to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

I Don’t Feel Like Dancing by The Scissor Sisters

You Can’t Touch This - MC Hammer

Abney Park’s My Life

It’s made work so much better this week.

Mr Breeze.

I couldn’t sit this one out if I tried.

I usually have a low tolerance to hearing a song too many times but there are two eighties songs that I’ve heard a bajillion times and can still get me goin’

**Rebel, Rebel **by David Bowie
That’s What I like About You by The Romantics

You said one, that’s two…sorry.

My number one uno supreme song is “We’re Not Gonna Take it” by Twisted Sister. I’m not a head-banger, but this radical song really speaks to my soul! What a reliever of tension to belt out this song down the dorm’s main corridor back in my college days! This song just makes me smile!

And then, there are songs that make me jump out of my chair to turn off the radio before I puke. But, that’s a totally different thread, I guess, huh Guest Goddess OP?

Oh god, yeah. I had to listen to it just because you mentioned it and was up jumping around within about 20 seconds.

Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden.

Life During Wartime - Talking Heads

Or most anything off of Stop Making Sense.

Me too, but also the oldie - Kodachrome.

I’ll second (or third or whatever) Kodachrome™ and Superstition.

I’ll add:

Miike Snow - Animal (Fake Blood Remix)

and

Chemical Brothers - Block Rockin’ Beats

Pure poetry. Thanks for this.

I haven’t actually danced in a while, but a few months ago we put on** Baby Got Back** from Sir Mix a Lot … my son had been hooting hysterically to the snippet played at the end of Shrek, so being good parents we had to play the whole song for him.

Anyway, some wild dancing did occur. Also that Apache, Jump on It song from the '80s.
