Ongoing Prostate Cancer Treatment

Just chiming in for a “good luck” too!

Best wishes.

And I’m back.

So everything went pretty smooth. Very uncomfortable, but no major pain. He took 12 samples(?). He said there was no bleeding so it sounds like I came through pretty well.

I’ll be back in the office next week for the results.

What a strange morning.

Hooray for an easy process!

Hoping for the best possible outcome

Same. Hope it all turns out fine, What_Exit! Glad you made it through the morning.

8 hours later and doing OK.

Thanks all.

Excellent news. Hoping for continued excellent news.

I saw the Doctor today and I have some cancer and need to go for a CT scan to determine treatment options.

It looks like the cancer is not too bad.

I hope you have the best possible outcome

:people_hugging:

Best wishes

Sorry to hear about the cancer. Hoping for the best.

I just read through this whole thread. Sorry you got bad-ish news but glad it wasn’t the worst/terrible news. These days the c-word isn’t the devastating diagnosis that it once was. I had breast cancer 10 years ago, still here, and still okay. Take care.

Sounds like you can continue to expect lots of good, informed support from the Gentlemen of the Dope. :+1:t3:

Indeed and thank you.

I’m counting on it. Along with my sisters and my niece that are all nurses and once I get the CT scan I’ll check in with my BIL who’s a Doctor.

Thanks again to everyone, it is a lot to process and hopefully I can get past the CT scan and know what I have to go through for treatment. My little September B&B trip to Doylestown might not happen this year.

Here’s hoping for a boring cancer and easy treatment.

How clever of you to be born into a medical family!

:crossed_fingers:t4:

Best of luck to you! I’ve had two people close to me get prostate cancer in the last decade or so, and they’re both still kicking and thriving - so there’s a lot they can do about it these days. Hang in there.

I’ve said this elsewhere, but if your doctor is on the optimistic side, but is doing all due diligence, that’s a sign you’re in good hands. And getting an “in-house” second opinion is also very helpful. My father calls upon my brother ‘the doctah’ frequently, now if only he, unlike you, listened and worked with the professionals!

Seriously, you’ve got the strength of will to ride herd on this place, you’ve got what it takes to stick through the treatment and come out well on the other side.

Thinking of you, WE. It’s an anxiety-inducing process. Best wishes for a clean CT and obvious treatment plan.

On that note, one of the most frustrating things for me was the lack of clear direction. I had multiple options and nothing that definitively says which is right. It’s both nice to have control over treatment, while at the same time it kind of sucks. If you find yourself in the same boat, at least know you’re not alone.

You know you have all my best wishes and hopes for a successful and non-eventful outcome. Big hugs to you.
