Hi,
Am trying to help a friend set-up a small online magazine.
We have are the usual problems of limited time and capital.
The initial Proof of Concept would need to cost no more than a few hundred dollars for the first year (inc hosting etc)
Blog software would be almost perfectly suitable for our needs, especially pre-packaged hosted solutions like Blogger.com
Problem.
The problem with this approach is that we need to easily maintain articles in a side-by-side comparison style format. This goes against the standard ‘diary-entry’ chronological format of most blogs.
Whilst I have knocked up a few basic php/mySQL online databases and am comfy with HTML, the thought of trying to reinvent all of the standard blog features makes me think that an off-the shelf option might be best.
Obviously a custom site would need to be developed (outsourced) when/if the Proof of Concept works.
Any thoughts?
James
