Online Movie rentals?

So, I am looking at this website called movielink.com, and it seems you pay them to rent movies online for 24 hours at a time, ie: You pay them, download the movie into their proprietary player, and then once you hit the play button, you’ve got 24 hours before it deletes itself or something like that.

Does anyone have any experience with this program and know whether or not it is worth putting money into? Not sure if this would be better in Cafe Society or IMHO, but if it is, Mods can feel free to move it.

You did say "feel free?

OK. IMHO it is.

No problem, Raguleader, sometimes it just comes down to a judgement call. That’s what we’re here for.

My first dvd player was in my pc. I soon discovered the small screen gave me a headache.I have a dvd player for my tv now and i’m a true believer in netflix

I think I remember reading some reviews of it that mentioned the small number of movies available. I can’t tell from looking at the website how many are, but I do notice that many new releases cost $4-5 each. And once you start to watch a movie, you’ve only got 24 hours before it stops working. I think Netflix is a better deal, and it has a lot more movies.

Yeah, looking at it, it mostly seems to have a small selection of movies that have been out for a few years (along with a LOT of Starblazers stuff). I was hoping it would have theatrical releases, but I didn’t find any in the short time I was looking.

My PC screen is a 76-inch projection screen and is wonderful for watching movies. I have Netflix, but for the occasional download I use Cinemanow. Some titles have more compression than others, and I wish they had more titles available for download, but it works pretty well. (One more complaint - you have to use IE.)
