Brain fart.
Must admit, Gomez is one of my most favourite parts of the show.
I’ve seen her in other things, she is very much playing a particular part here, and that includes the flat affect and voice, neither of which are her normal demeanour or voice.
I too think Selena is excellent in this show. But the only other thing I really know her from was the terrible Spring Breakers movies where all the acting was terrible. So I assume the blame falls to the Director and Franco.
Martin Short and Steve Martin spent a few years fairly recently touring the country as a comedy duo. They were very good. I think Netflix has one night’s performance. They’re still touring together apparently.
Confirmed: Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life. This was very enjoyable when I watched it 5 years ago.
I also think she is really good on the show. She plays off Martin and Short well, and her deadpan voice and delivery (intentional acting choice or not) suit the role.
There was more than one?
No, typo. I was on my phone at that point.
3x04 is my favorite of the season so far.
So how much longer are they going to drag out that Ben was talking to the cookies in his dressing room and he’s the one who wrote “fucking pig” about himself on the mirror?
Better question, what will the twist be since they know we all assume that?
And I can’t tell yet if Howard’s repeated “cousin who works at State Farm” references are a plot point or just product placement or maybe both.
I thought it was funny that Steve mentioned SNL this last episode.
“You’ve only been in there for 20 minutes!”
A couple of great guest stars on 3x07.
Martin Short was great and the guy from Slate is a tool.
They still haven’t used up the last of their Gut Milk.
“I bet you would’ve made a much better Ferris.”
“You mean that?”
“Oh I want to!”
You’re still here? It’s over. Go home.
What an insane take by Slate. Short is fantastic. And his interaction with Broadrick was hilarious. I loved the phone call with Mel Brooks.
Count me among those who have always found Martin Short a bit cloying. He’s like the polar opposite of Andrew “Dice” Clay*, and I’m here in the middle wondering why anybody ever laughs at either of them.
But to deny that a large audience finds him endearing and hilarious is just ridiculous. I am perfectly clear that its me who is missing out on the fun.

- I couldn’t think of Dice’s name, so googled “misogynistic comedian1980’s” and up he popped.
My current theory is that KT is the murderer based solely on the fact that they showed a closeup of her shredding the highlighted script page and Howard for a moment had a tiny bit of a quizzical look at her while she was doing it.
I’m 7 for 7 so far this season on catching the opening credits easter eggs, so how could I possibly be wrong?
And there was the line about the door being locked and a strange noise (the shredder).
Will Loretta turn out to be Ben’s biological mother? She kept the scrapbook. There was already a mention of adoption although it was a possible misdirection saying Ben wasn’t the adopted one.
Wait, there are opening credit easter eggs?
Perhaps a red herring? I remember specific motives given for various characters like Ben’s brother. But I don’t remember KT’s motive.
