Ontario, Canada - thoughts on Mike Harris?

Did you live in Ontario during the Mike Harris government? If so, I’d be interested in what you think of him now in context, and especially, if his government affected your life personally (positive or negative). I’m still finding it very difficult to figure out what to think about him.

(Background - Mike Harris was the Conservative leader of Ontario in the 1990s. He was very good at winning elections, but was controversial to say the least, and is still despised by many people.)

Compared to Bob Rae, he was light years ahead. If i had any complaint with him, was that companies were given the ability to compel me to work overtime on the weekend.

The need to extend the work week was in my opinion not needed and held back employment.
