I love that way too much. Thx!
I seem to remember a golden oldie that had the echoing phrase, “Doo Wop, Doo Wop”, but that’s all I could remember. So, I Googled the phrase and, even though I misspelled it, Google came up with a plethora of songs that used it.
I love Doo Wop music. The basic rhythmic style manages to make its way past my tin ears. The Book Of Love always comes to mind first when Doo Wop is mentioned, but it’s hardly the be all of the style. If you love this kind of music you’d love the movie American Hot Wax. A rather fanciful story but filled with great musical performances.
That’s where the fun is – way out!
Nitpick re: pet peeve of mine.
There’s a skewed view that if a country was part of the Warsaw Pact or assimilated into USSR it is ‘eastern.’ No.
The Baltic states are just that, Baltic. Much more in common historically, linguistically, culturally and above else geographically with the Nordic countries and Poland than with the East.
Hungary, Czech republic, Romania, Moldova ASF are Central European.
Eastern are Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Belarus.

Special shout-out to David Seville for managing to makes nonsense lyrics in a novelty song somehow insensitive, if not downright insulting.
Could you tell me what the insensitive and insulting lyrics of this song are? I’ve been singing ‘ooh ee ooh ah ah’ since I was a little kid and the Alvin show first aired. I have never memorized the non-nonsense lyrics but looking them up they seem pretty tame.
I would guess the gibberish lyrics, as they’re presented as being the “witch doctor” (presumably, a member of a primitive, non-white culture) speaking in his native tongue, could be seen as linguistic stereotyping.
kenobi_65 pretty much nails it. As a fun exercise, replace “with doctor” with “therapist.” Does it sound like you’re mocking mental health professionals?
Speaking of Guardians of the Galaxy, this is the trailer with the most ooga chugga.
I’m listening to Time Has Come Today live by The Chambers Brothers. At 6:49 they just start doing primal screams https://youtu.be/B9jjUzi6sRY?t=407. It works too!
Don’t forget
Oh, lord!!
I’m sure I’ll be hearing that alot.
