Open Secrets in Hollywood: what else is out there?

The accusations from the first accuser were more serious. She was 17, for starters.

And the fact you are able to get over it and put it behind you is irrelevant to what other people do in that situation.

Your continued attacks on people, simply for coming forward and stating something that someone behaved poorly, are disgusting. Shame on you, again. It’s always okay to come forward (assuming the story is true) and say that someone treated you poorly. Always. And it’s never appropriate to attack or try to shame someone for doing so.

Attitudes like yours are why many victims are afraid to come forward – they’re afraid someone is going to attack them for nothing more than telling the truth. It doesn’t matter if you think the misbehavior was trivial, or minor, or whatever. It’s not for you (or anyone) to decide what misbehavior is bad enough to be worth discussing, and anything less than that must not be discussed or mentioned. It’s always entirely up to individuals. And as long as they’re being honest (and I see no reason to believe that any of the reports so far are not), then it’s completely okay that they came forward, and immoral and harmful to society (in a tiny way) to attack them for it.

Shame on you.

It was actually a bit more serious than that. She says that her play was dropped because she wouldn’t sleep with him. So the price of working with him was to sleep with him.

It’s not trivial to blackmail someone like that.

But, according to this, Corey’s friend Greg Harrison claimed on Facebook that it was Dominick Brascia who raped Haim. Brascia denied the claims, but stated that he knew who the assailant was. Brascia claims that the assailant was in his 40s when the incident happened.

If that’s true, it would seem to rule out Sheen.

Interesting. Surprising that source brought up Martin Sheen as a possibility.

God knows how big a boost to your career and personal life it is to disclose you were a victim of sexual harassment or abuse at the hands of a powerful player!

It sucks. The only reason to come forward after all this time is because you need to - because that 14 year old kid that had a drunk Spacey crawl on top of him deserved a voice, and if it took this long for Rapp to feel supported enough to come forward that that’s how long it takes.

The real tragedy is that the 14 year old him knew that he would not have had the support then.

You should be bloody angry at Spacey - how dare he think he could get away with being a sexual predator.

I know! He mentioned it in concerts all the time.

Emphasis added. Grant’s sexuality is still disputed: Cary Grant - Wikipedia

So you missed the other story about Hoffman chasing after a 17-year-old, huh?

Dude, stop sticking up for these people. You’re going to be made a fool of 99 times in a hundred, because it’ll turn out to not be the one isolated case you wish it would be. If you turn on the lights and see one rat, there’s fifty.

You don’t have some God-given right to see more movies with Kevin Spacey and Dustin Hoffman in them.

OK, it’s obvious that there’s a train wreck in this thread, but unfortunately, I hadn’t been following it from the start, so it’s going to take me a while to figure out where it derailed. In the mean time, I’m going to close it for now. I might (no promises) re-open it once I’ve had a chance to read through, and might take other action.
