Operation: Mindcrime II

WOOHOO!!. I loved the first one, and I’m listening to it again tonight. Queensryche did a great job of actually telling a compelling story with the original Operation: Mindcrime. Here’s hoping part 2 lives up to its promise. There just aren’t enough good “concept albums” out there.

I’m pumped - this is the first album which I’ve looked forward to in a long time.

…The word is all of us…

Well Holy Crap! one of my favorite (ok its my total favorite) concept albums has a sequel. have to check this out.

Dang, I was really looking forward to it until I discovered Dio was involved in the project :frowning:

Gaaa! Well, that bit of news just overloaded my psychedometer…as long as they don’t piss all over my memories of the original, of course.

…I remember now…

Crazÿ! I just bought the first O:M again because my old one was “over-loved.” Neat!

Adam

Yeah, that does not bode well. But then, “involved” is a vague term. Maybe he’s in charge of fetching Geoff Tate his honey & lemon tea. Or if he appears on the album, maybe he’ll just be one of the voices mummering “we know you did it” in a The Needle Lies reprise. Or maybe it’s not RJD at all, and instead, our own Diogenes the Cynic is somehow involved?

One of the articles on the linked site mentions RJD went into the studio to record his part, so I’m inclined to believe it’s a singing part. Maybe it’ll be fairly minimal a-la Suite Sister Mary. I’m not familiar with stuff, so I don’t have any expectations one way or the other.
