Well, my MP3 CD player has started acting strangely and I’m considering purchasing a replacement. Interestingly enough, this coincides with the launch of Sony’s version of the ipod, the VGF-AP1. It’s main merits over the ipod seem to be the inclusion of a 2.2 inch LCD screen and over double the battery life (officially 20 hours). The main downside over the ipod (according to the Guardian review) is apparently its size (though a quick comparison with the ipod specs reveal little difference to me). So what do you, my fellow Dopers, think of this new entry into the mp3 market?

Oh, and regarding price: it’s going for about $500 on Amazon.jp and about $400 on on-line auction sites.
