opinions on two specific binoculars (birding application)

I couldn’t identify a warbler if it hit me in the face (although I’m learning.) Indeed, this question is actually from my ornithologically inclined girlfriend. She has to choose between two different binoculars as an upcoming gift from her parents. The choices they are offering:

Has anyone used either (or both) of these binoculars? Has anyone needed to exercise the warranty on either? Any other thoughts that might help break the tie? (Assume for this thread that there is no convenient way to actually go try the two binos…)
