Opinions that others would find blasphemy?

It’s the same with Saturday Night Live. Even back in its “glory days,” 90% of it was forgettable crap. These days, it probably more like 99.5% crap.

Get rid of national anthems before sporting events. What a useless custom.

Magical Mystery Tour was a much better album than Sargent Pepper.

And Revolution #9 was one of the better tracks the Beatles ever put to vinyl.

The funny thing is, it probably wouldn’t take much of an effort to bring this practice to a halt. The event organizer could just omit it from whatever pregame ceremonies there are (and there aren’t many that are useful or even very entertaining) and precious few people other than band directors would even notice its omission. Before long, we’d have a thread titled “Why don’t they play the national anthem at sports events any more?”

I don’t believe this: last night, I was playing on the computer, and I saw another JA link about her hair getting cut! Of course, it looked the same. (Don’t have link, now, because computer is too slow for me to check…)

Football should eliminate the clock and implement a play count instead. For an NFL game, 130 plays total sounds just about right. Substitution, except for special plays, should be limited to one man per team per play.

Agreed.
