No. Now I see that you oppose killings, so I guess I’ll let you off the hook for Laci. You still have much to answer for, though.
Obviously the fallacy of attributing approval in the absence of outright condemnation is clear.

From the Washington Post article:
oooooooooooooh.
I don’t know about Ohio, but in Maine (Snow’s stomping ground), ‘New Yorker’ is about as low an insult as you can get.
How is saying that implying people in his own partyshouldn’t bicker and resort to jingoistic namecalling beating up on the French more? If spun right, he’d be defending them.
Also, do you ignore your children when they break the rules, hoping the problem will go away?
yeah, but if i made a statement condemning lots of stuff i disagree with, no one would bat an eyelash (if people do care what i say, then i’d be more surprised than you). Bush is in a much higher profile position and has theinfluence to end this. The only influence i have against child molestation or the ilk is in grassroots campaigns, even with my family history. And i’m sure i can did up some of those threads when the Nazi’s invaded and see what i feel about racial discrimination…(i won’t, actually, since giving them free press here is bad)
Hey, this commercial is on the Daily Show as i type!
Tars, this is stretching. Bush is best to stay out of this little bicker, because if he spoke about it it would give it more weight than it deserves.
Taxguy, I’m not implyign that you didn’t read the post, just that you disregarded any point tars might make because he used the word “shrubya”.
I agree. I don’t like GW, but has nothing to gain by addressing the ad.
i guess we can agree to disagree here then.
But, of course, Shrub can’t stay out of it. He is on his way to Ohio to visit. http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?Category=23&ID=96286&r=1
He’ll be here in the morning. I can’t wait.
You have two choices. Either GWB is a dupe, being led by his handlers who have told him to go to Ohio on Thursday and he thinks in his heart that he is here to talk to the Timken Company, or he is an active participant in this stupid assault on Voinovich’s intelligence and integrity(my bet). And it won’t work. I hope.
I personally have mixed feeling against Voinovich. He is much too conservative socially for me. But he has always been a rather economically smart person. And that’s what counts in this particuar battle.
I have Voinovich’s phone number. I’ll call tomorrow and tell him that he’s my homie and I support him.
Fuck you, “Club for Growth.”
{Makes 'em sound like the Hairline Clinic)
I have to wait until Tomorrow to find out what happens next? Boooo!!!
keep me posted if something happens!
Sure! First thing tomorrow.
I just saw this on the Daily Show last night. Mind-boggling. I’ve come to the personal conclusion that politicians on the whole, and Republicans in specific have all completely lost their minds.
You know, if there have to be “moderate” Republicans, couldn’t they moderate the oppressive social policies rather than the libertarian-friendly economic ones? We libertarians just can’t catch a break with you two-party folk. Same thing for “moderate” Democrats. All Dems love high taxes but the “moderate” ones also hate gay people, immigrants, and love the death penalty.
Moderate-ism is a plague on politics anyways. If you don’t have a consistent ideology behind your positions, than you’re just a mercenary shifting in the political winds for the sake of reelection and your campaign donors. Of course, I can’t remember the last time the GOP or Dems had a party platform that represented a clear ideology or any sort of coherent political philosophy.
Tars didn’t just add that for you, either. He actually had to put that in there so people wouldn’t assume he was pro-killings.
Personally, I oppose people who karaoke the medley from Grease, but I haven’t put that in my profile yet.
The OP’s general point about Bush not exactly living up to his self-billing as a compassionate conservative and force for unity has validity but to use this particular spat to illustrate this isn’t entirely fair. Based on what we know so far, Bush lending support to either side would just crank things up a notch and the best thing he can do is to make no public comment.
Knock it off with the “sic”, will you? It was perfectly clear that the eternal stain of the typo was not yours to wear.
Has anyone ever actually done any impartial studies showing that tax cuts lead to economic growth and job creation?
Because from everything I’ve seen and experienced when it comes to North American politics, it seems that every time a fiscally conservative party comes into power, the economy goes into the tank. And when they cut taxes (even this plan, which cuts business taxes but no real personal taxes), it goes even lower.
Why wait until tomorrow? http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/content/news/ap/ap_story.html/Washington/AP.V9128.AP-Bush-Missing-Se.html
Voinovich stood up to the Pres.
Read: Fuck You shrub.
Damn! I love the smell of integrity in the morning!( or any time of day)
