Oprah: I don't think that helped.

I always thought “suffering knows no heirarchy” was one of the more perceptive things I’d heard. I don’t know who said it first.

You mean Dr Nora? Rhymes with Dr Laura?

I think you may be wrong.

Could be. But then I wasn’t pitching a shutout anyway.

Actually, I’d like to acquire that ability, myself.

I agree with the Op on the pressure-issue. It works for some, not all. The hoped-for end result is too important for Oprah to mess with the girl’s head.

I’m pretty sure Dr Nora was a parody of Dr Laura Schlessinger.
I can’t believe I remember this so well. I wasn’t even a fan, but this episode made me laugh:

Nora: Listen to me, you have a child! You think you have the
right to get divorced just because you’re tired of your
husband?
Jill: But he’s gay!
Nora: You picked him. You made a baby with him. Maybe you got him
drunk, maybe you dressed up as Antonio Banderas, I don’t care!
Just make it work!

Plus she called a bisexual woman an “equal-opportunity slut”

Every so often, the writers pulled a gem like this out of their ass. Tricked me into thinking Frasier was worth watching.
